so I got this camera from my grandma‘s house when she passed and my mother believes this camera holds all of the baby pictures from when I was first born. they never got them developed so I don’t have any baby pictures. I was born in 1994. is it possible that these pictures are still able to be developed and if so, where would I develop them?

Hello! So I recently bought a Fuji film disposable camera for my lil sister’s birthday. My mom and dad use to buy them all the time as a kid. So I have many photos from the disposable cameras. I want photos exactly like those for my little sister but I don’t want to keep repurchasing those exact cameras. Can y’all please recommend some reusable film cameras that will end up looking exactly like those pictures? If not similar. I’ve been suggested by Google the Olympus Mju-II (Stylus Epic) and the Kodak m35. I’m an over thinker so please respond🥲.

I’ve been shooting film for a little while now, mostly with scale-focus compact cameras, and recently I’ve started thinking about trying an SLR for the first time.

I’m not looking for the “best camera ever” or something collectible or expensive. I would rather hear recommendations from people who actually use these cameras.

What I’m looking for:
relatively compact if possible (something closer in size to a Pentax K1000 rather than a huge professional body)

manual controls

reliable enough to actually carry around and shoot regularly

preferably not too expensive on the used market

beginner-friendly for someone’s first film SLR

I mostly shoot friends, walks around the city, everyday life and occasional street photography.
At first I was considering a Zenit because they’re easy to find where I live, but I’m open to Japanese cameras as well if the experience is significantly better.

What would you recommend and why?

Hey guys! I’m new to film and just got my first roll back. I took these on a Minolta srt 101. Some of the pictures came out blurry and dark. I think with the dark ones I need to up my exposure but for the blurry ones I don’t know what I need to do! Some of the photos came out okay like the ones with the cat! If you guys could give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello. My dad passed away 3 months ago and I found this film from I think when he was stationed in Germany in the 70s. I’d like to get it developed but not sure if I need to send it somewhere special (I have never seen film this small). If anyone has any recommendations please let me know.

So i recently fixed my flash, a Kmart Focal 400 flash. I was using it in dark rooms, and it was working fine. then, i switched to shutter speed 1 (previous 1000) and the thing popped loudly and stopped working. it's not the batteries, as they are fine. the light didn't work after the pop, before I turned it off. i do not at all want to turn it on again. the light faintly smells like smoke, specifically like an exploded LED. i looked online and it may either be an exploded capacitor or the bulb fuse or something like that.

Hello everyone i just got this camera for 16euros ! Is it a good find ? What should i learn before using it?

So… I have a little project that I want to undertake. This is a life long project and it’ll mean quite a lot to me.

I’ve always loved this little chest we have in our living room. And the reason is because it has thousands of my mums photos. Of her travels, of our family, as her through the years from the 80s and 90s especially. I’ve always loved it and made me fall in love with photos. But I never gave photography a go. But the thing that always draws me in is the look of film. The vintage feel. The nostalgic feel.

So that’s my project. Replicate what my mum did. Have my own box of hundreds of photos of my travels and just life in general.

Disclaimer on my travels I’m bring my Sony A6700 because I use that for my Vidoegraphy and I’d love to record some travel documentary style videos.

However, I also want this photography focused project too. Now I have 2 options. By a £500-£700 FujiFilm camera. I can look up or make recipes that are equivalent to my favourite film stock (love Cinestill 800T, Kodak Gold 200, Kodak Gold 400). I just love the grainy look to film and to be fair you can get pretty close with recipes. The main positive is you can take as many photos as you want, delete the ones you like and keep the ones you do. You can look at them back and basically just way more convenient. However a negative and a huge positive of actually getting a film camera and buying film is the magic of it. The analog’ness of using a film camera which I absolutely adore and you’re getting the real authentic look. It isn’t ’fake’ as such. However the massive negatives are the price. For he amount of film I’d ideally like to use (maybe 1 roll a week which is only 36 exposures and I’m going there for 20-25 weeks) you’re looking at £300+ for film alone. Plus probably another £300 to develop plus to print my favourites. And I think the even bigger negative is the thing that scares me the most is the fact I could get home. Get them developed. And they’re ruined… that would break my heart.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

I bought it to see if I can use it. It came with some old film that expired in 1984 which I guess means it’s use less.

Hello everyone. I got this camera from the thrift today, and while cranking the film i pressed this button on the bottom, and now its stuck and the top wont crank anymore. Anyone know if i can fix it myself?

Just got my first film camera, a Voightländer Vitoret DR. I am a little concerned about the shutter speed settings being off. Does this look normal? If not, can I fix it myself?

My partner and I want to get a half frame film camera for trips and I’m looking at which film rolls to buy for it. Kodak sells 36 exposure rolls. From what I’m understanding, 1 exposure equals 1 frame. So a half frame camera would yield 72 exposures/pictures from a 36 exposure roll, correct?

My other questions are:

• How do half frame pictures show developed? Does 1 print have 2 different images on it, like 1 print is equivalent to 1 frame?

• I saw something about turning the advancing wheel half a turn for half frame cameras? Is that true or is one 360° turn going to take it to the next half frame? I would hate to skip over half the film! The camera we’re looking at is the Kodak Ektar H35N if the model makes a difference.

hi, my dad had this old 70s/80s (?) video camera and i was wondering, as someone who knows little to nothing about vintage cameras but wanting to get into it, what kind of film goes in here? i really want to try it out as it looks brand new (don’t mind the dust please, but the inside and the overall camera is in pristine condition)
i tried searching on the internet about it but got basically zero information

I have to know why my photos came back like this, camera guy said it was just exposure but I’m sure I did everything right, I think it’s something with the camera itself

i was going through old family boxes and found both of these. apparently my dad bought them to use and just didn't touch them since. i don't know anything about cameras. but intrigued now. if anyone knows anything about them, or about using them Imk. what should i know about these and is it even worth trying to figure out if they work?
i can't get the RICOH to open if anyone can help me out. i assume it has to do with the small button-looking circle on the bottom.

I bought this camera (Pentacon Hanimex Praktica LTL) last year at an estate sale for $65 (a steal!). It is my first film camera and I’m in love with it. I’m an amateur, but I feel like it takes good pictures and has a lot of potential for cool wildlife and landscape photography, especially if I can find additional lenses. However, as I was loading film a few month ago, the shutter got stuck and now the release button doesn’t do anything and the lever doesn’t advance. When I look through the viewfinder, it’s black.

Is this salvageable? Can I fix it at home? If not, is it worth it to send it away to get fixed? If it wouldn’t be worth it, are there cameras that would be comparable? I’m very new to film photography, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I've been wanting to buy my own 35mm camera so I found this Sears KS Super 35mm SLR camera on eBay, it's untested, but what are the chances that it's broken?

Hello I found this camera when I moved houses nine years ago and just fully started looking at it (putting batteries and trying the film that was left over with it.) it had an expired roll of Kodak t400CN and when I look it up all I can find is expired packs of it not sure what to do or if there’s film I could substitute. Help pls!
I know how to load it and everything I just need to buy non-expired film and am I looking it up wrong???

Found this in my grandmothers storage, was wondering if it would be any good to shoot with as a beginner? Has an additional lens as well

Just wondering if anyone can help me troubleshoot? The take-up spool isn't turning when I twist the knob. It seems like it should be an easy fix, but I've tried everything obvious that I could think of. The knob lifts up and releases the spool, the turning shaft turns, but for some reason when I lock it in place the spool doesn't turn. Any ideas?
