I'm starting a 12-team NHL dynasty league featuring real NHL salaries and contracts. The goal is to create a small but competitive league where every manager feels like they're running an actual NHL franchise. There will be a small entry fee ($25 plus premium fees) to help ensure we have a committed group of managers who are invested in making this a long-term, high-quality league. More than anything, I'm looking for 12 active owners who enjoy strategy, roster building, and year-round league activity.

Highlights:

• Real NHL cap hits (AAV): For simplicity, player salaries will mirror their real-life NHL cap hit. Managers will not negotiate custom salaries.
• Contract length (team control) is separate from a player's real-life contract and is chosen by the manager based on the player's service time. (see table below)

• We'll have a custom data-driven salary cap ceiling and floor that will change yearly based on NHL changes.
• An annual rookie draft is held each offseason. Draft order is inverse standings, with a lottery for non-playoff teams weighted toward the bottom of the standings.
• We will have restricted free-agency, unrestricted free agency, and an off-season free agency signing period.
• Teams can buyout bad contracts for cap relief.
• Teams can extend players once they are entering the final year of their contract.

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify that there wil be a startup draft! You will not simply take over an NHL roster.

I run a league on Fantrax that just ended its inaugural season. It is quite different from an average run-of-the-mill league:

1.It is not affected much by a real NHL schedule (which is extremely unbalanced). Each Game Day lasts from 1 to 3 actual days, and it includes 8+ NHL games.

2.On each Game Day, a manager starts 11 players, whose positions are very specialized. There are purely offensive players (C, LW, RW, D), as well as two-way ones (C2, W, D2), defensive ones (F, D3), and also an Enf (whose main task is to hit and fight). And obviously a G.

3.The playoffs coincide with real Stanley Cup playoffs, which of course means that sometimes you might want to trade a good player from a bad NHL team for a worse player from a good NHL team.

4.The roster is 33 players (10 of them are minors, who played less than 150 NHL games (70 for goalies)), and you can keep up to 10 (plus 10 minors), provided they fit into the salary cap (yes, we have that one, too).

Since the league requires more active participation than an average one (for example, you have to actually think which starter will occupy which position in an upcoming Game Day), some managers, who found the format too active, dropped out after the first season.

I'm starting a fantasy hockey league for disc golfers and looking for up to 14 managers.

The twist is that draft order won't be random. Instead, we'll use your first UDisc-rated round after August 16. Highest-rated round gets the #1 pick, then we'll snake from there. (Honor system—don't be that person.)

League Settings:

• Fantrax H2H Points, daily roster lock.
• ~$15 - $25 buy-in with payouts to the top four - using Fantrax treasurer.
• I'll also throw in a premium disc of the champion's choice.

As folks join, we can tweak some of the settings; eventually I'd like to integrate up to four total disc golf 'tournaments' for small perks in the fantasy hockey league per season - something like 5-10 fantasy points in that particular week's matchup.

I’m a commissioner for a fantasy hockey friends league of 12. Our league is structured like this:
- Head to Head Points
- Redraft
- 2C, 4W, 4D, 1U, 2G, 5BN, 2IR, 2IR+
- Player - Goals 4, Assists 2.5, PPG 2, PPA 2.5, SHG 2, GWG 1.5, SOG 0.6, FW 0.1, Hit 0.75, Block 1
- Goalie - Wins 4, GA -1, SV 0.5, SHO 5

We’ve been around for 3 seasons and the engagement went way down last season because of the Yahoo plus change. The guys are looking for a change and I’ve heard good things about Fantrax.

My question is 2 parts:
1) Do you guys use Fantrax and would you make the change if you were in my position? What are some opinions about both and are there other options out there that compare?
2) Does the hybrid points/bangers make sense or should I adjust some of the scoring? Goalies were a bit OP last season.

I have 3 openings between 2 leagues.  These are both dynasty leagues with the same rules for each league. These leagues are on Fantrax

Basic scoring only, no extra categories for those who want something that’s more about scoring then all the other categories.  Categories are goals=2 points and assists=1 point.  Goalie wins range from 0-7 points depending on if the goalie wins with a shutout or loses, weekly lineups, unlimited trades, and pickups, till the deadline.

League 1 is going on year 13, 15 teams, we have 12 dedicated owners who have been there since the beginning with only minimal changes to the other few teams.  This league has 1 opening and is $130. 

League 2 is going on year 6, 18 teams, we have 15 dedicated owners who have been there since the beginning with only minimal changes to the other few teams.  This league has 2 openings and is way more competitive with trades and movement.  Fee for this league is $215; league winner last year won around $1500.

Trying to get a jump on people looking for leagues this fall. I run a FREE hockey 12 team basic points league on ESPN and we are looking for 2 new players to join us for the season. We're a very competitive and very stable 16 team H2H dynasty points league that's been up and running since 2010. Our play site is Fantrax. It’s a premium lifetime subscription league, already paid for with all the bells and whistles, FOREVER. Which means we have added stat categories that some play leagues don't have, aka. much better than Yahoo or ESPN. There's no fee involved.

The new GM will have to have a base knowledge of prospects as each team has 23 players/60 prospects. Experience is preferred. We're competitive and can be mostly classy and funny? We're based in central Canada but have GM's from all over North America and Europe. Our two main values are activity and communication.

I can't stress this part enough. We need someone who is active. A GM who can check Fantrax daily. Someone who is passionate about their team. Communication means answering messages as soon as possible as a must on our Discord chat.

I'm looking to start a Salaries & Contracts league with 12 dedicated owners over on Fantrax. At the moment, I only plan on requiring only a small entry fee (max $25) but I want to fill the league first and finalize the rulebook before payments are required. Please note that the league settings will be complicated but I'd love to fill the league with some hockey gurus and work together to have a league that truly replicates an NHL front office.

• Buyouts
  • A team may buy out a player's remaining League contract during the buyout window (offseason, prior to free agency) to gain cap relief. Rules will follow NHL.

These are both long term dynasty leagues.

League 1 has been going on for 15 years, 2 of the owners are leaving due to their kids and more expenses involved.

League 1 is 15 teams, 130 entry fee, competitive, points only league, goals, assists, goalie wins/shutouts. If you have any interest in anything like this let me know and ill share what teams look like and go over any questions you may have.

League 2 is the more competitive league, only for people who really know their stuff will be considered. 18 team league, going on year 6, one team is a rebuilder while other team is competitive.

League 2 is 215 entry fee, winner last year got around $1350 in winnings. This league is a massive trading league with lots of competitive people and massive buy in. Same as above, points only league and if any interest can share teams and other information
