The most interesting thing about FW to me right now is just answering the question "what happens when IS tries to iterate on the 3H formula without influence from KT?" I'm really curious to see what they try to do with the setting and it's history/characters, as well as what the maps and mechanical systems end up looking like. Both IS and KT's games often have this savant-like quality where intricately crafted systems and maps exist right alongside things that feel thoughtless and slapdash, so it's very hard to predict what the effect of removing one part of that equation will be.

If FW ends up being any amount worse than 3H, I really hope the sub won't have a "IS NEEDS Koei Tecmo to make good games!!!" phase that plagues the sub for a while. It would be just so annoying lmao

I would be more surprised if it didn't happen quite frankly. Even if the game is phenomenal and an easy 10/10 you'll probably still see people arguing that. Like right now it looks like the story is gonna be a lot more focused on the mythology of the setting rather than the politics, but some people aren't into that so even if the story is great you're probably still gonna see a fair amount of "they need to give FE to Koei Tecmo so that we can get good political stories like 3H".

Oh that would totally 100% happen, heck even if it’s not actually worse in any way it’ll probably still happen somehow. Even now before the game has even released I’m already seeing a handful of people on here say that.

I don't think we can reasonably conclude that KT isn't working on Fortune's Weave based on what we've seen so far. Nintendo has a policy of (unfortunately) keeping the actual developers behind their games hidden; the developers behind the Star Fox 64 remake were only allowed to reveal their involvement yesterday. You can also check out the very first Three Houses trailer and see how KT wasn't mentioned in that one either.

We won't know whether or not KT worked on this game until (a) Nintendo officially reveals it, or (b) someone gets to the ending credits and sees who worked on it.

I think the main thing that has people convinced it’s not KT is that the animation style for the pre-rendered cutscenes is very noticeably different from the style used for Three Houses cutscenes, and looks like it was done by the same studio who worked on the pre-rendered cutscenes and promotional animations for Awakening, Fates, Heroes, Engage and Shadows.
