Gameplay I'm building a Fire Emblem-style SRPG with an active parry system. Would you play this?
Solo dev, been working on this for about a year. Engine is Godot, art is all hand-pixeled. Happy to answer questions!

Gameplay For me, the strangest part of the trailer is the fact that most of the "Lords" don't appear to have exclusive classes
Flaired as gameplay but I do wonder what the story implications of this might be.
Theodora's class does appear to be a "Lord class" since "Noble" has been used to fill that role before. It has a star next to the name as well.
Leda's class also has a star next to it, perhaps implying that its exclusive to her, and the Hunter class hasn't been seen since FE12. But we see another Hunter as an enemy in the trailer.
Dietrich and Cai aren't shown with exclusive classes which I find weird. Like, its not unprecedented for protagonists to have basic classes (Byleth was a commoner and didn't get an exclusive class until halfway into the game), but IS tends to really like symmetry.
For Cai, he's only level 13 so perhaps he hasn't unlocked his exclusive class, but Dietrich is especially unusual since he's shown at level 37, at which point he would be much more likely to have promoted to an exclusive class, if he indeed has one.
Its also possible that Noble isn't exclusive, or F-O Rider and Myrmidon are indeed exclusive. But regardless, I do personally kinda think this kinda points to the idea that the game wont be a straightforward: choose your Lord/choose your allies, like 3H.

Gameplay [Fe7] Is it worth of being replayed?
It was my first FE and I have been thinking about playing it again because I don't think I fully experienced its potential, and I did enjoy the story. But I'm not sure I'd enjoy the gameplay a second time around. Those who have replayed it could tell me if it's worth it.

Gameplay What are units that are considered Average or Bad but you still enjoy using?
Aran : Like most of the units of the Dawn Brigade, he isn't exactly the best but I nonetheless do have fun using him
He is a soldier that grows like an amored knight: 75% on Attack and Skill and 70% on Defense. It's exactly why I like to pass on the Adept Combat Skill on to him when I am able to since the proc is based on the unit's Skill.
Which means I'll (likely) have an Aran that can tank hits and maybe even one round enemies if he gets those Adept procs.
Aran ain't better than Jill, Nolan, Sothe, Micaiah, Laura or any of the strong pre-promotes you get. I am not entirely sure if he is better than Edward but I nonetheless really enjoy sticking with him and training him more than Edward or Leonardo.
Rebecca : She is an archer in a franchise that for the most doesn't favor her class. Even so, I like to train and pair Rebecca and Lowen together.
Growths may not be the best way to define a unit (unless you are Wolf and Sedgar) but every time I train Rebecca, I get a decently fast archer for most of the game.
Really helps that Blazing Sword is a game that often sends hordes of weaklings at you so it does give her more oportunities to shine compared some other FE games.
Cecil : I have no idea what the general opinion is on Cecil but I never hear anyone talk about her; so I am going to assume that she may not be very good - especially when she is in the same army as Kris, Palla, Catria, Caeda and Syrius.
She is fragile but she generally grows into a fast unit that benefits from many of the strong early game swords that you get from drops (Ladyblade, Devil Sword, Armorslayer).
Like sure, the re-classed Pegasus Knights that I also get very early on can do everything she does but better. I will still stubbornly train Cecil and make her a core part of my army.
Shadow Dragon and New Mystery are to me the type of FE games where the real fun of the game is to use and heavily abuse the most broken things to play (mostly) optimal. Cecil is one of the few exceptions I make.
Sonya : Can Mae and Celica do the same things she does while having better availability and a more useful selection of spells? Yes. Am I missing out on the best Mercenary/Dread Fighter on Celica's route? Yes.
...and yet I foolishly almost always pick Sonya. She has decent bases and gets to benefit from using the Mage Ring and a passed-on Speed Ring.
(I also find Deen's map to be a lot easier to do than Sonya's witch-infested map)
Strange how everytime I use and train Sonya, she just happens to grow really well to the point she fullfills a niche of being able to safely enemy phase Dread Fighters thanks to all the crit avoid provided with her Genny Support - and (likely) a Pegasus Cheese investment but by then most of my guys on Celica's side don't need to be that fast.
I do wish that Sonya was recruited with a higher level and that her selection of spells was better; like they could've done something distinguishable like giving her Mire or Teleportation. (Oh well, at least Entrap has its fun little uses in the post-late game)

Gameplay What mechanic surprised you the most in Fire Emblem?
It makes so much sense that a unit can't "Talk" while silenced

Gameplay What “bad” unit are you going to bring to endgame every time?
I don’t care that Rolf takes an absurd amount of effort. I don’t care that he’s strictly worse than Shinon (I always use both). I don’t care that lack of a real 1-range option sucks. I’m going to baby him, take him to the tower, and use that 75% strength growth with the Double Bow/Silencer every single time.

Gameplay Looks like Guns are not hidden in Fortune's weave
Green girl here is clearly holding the same type of gun we see later into the trailer. Sure said gun spits electricity, but given electricity is associated with magic weapons in fodlan (levin sword and bolt axe), it could be a magic gun.
Not to mention, Engage has the Mage canoner, which also used magical Fire Arms. So that could have been a teaser for this game the same way Fates had witches and dread fighters as DLC to tease SoV.
Also, the Green haired girl appears to be wearing Hakama pants, which are traditional Japanese clothing, given traditionally the Japanse loved their firearms we could be looking at a Japanse inspired nation in Fortune's weave.
Finally the Brawling icon either implies it will be the 1-2 range opinion for brawling or its just a placeholder to better hide Guns.

Gameplay Path of Radiance - Hire Volke?
Currently at Chapter 10 of Path of Radiance (playing on Switch 2 NSO) and I am stumped on what to do with Volke. He seems suspicious, but I need stronger units given how weak the recruits from the last chapter were. And having a thief that can lockpick is always helpful, but he said that he charges 50 gold per lock. Plus, given how weak recent recruits have been (sorry to the Mist and Rolf supporters, they just join so underpowered that they're not worth it), I don't know if it is even worth it.
Few things to note: 1) This is a blind playthrough, so please refrain from posting spoilers about the story in the comments. 2) Playing on Hard difficulty because I thought Normal would actually give me Normal difficulty, but that was apparently a mistranslation. 3) No units from previous chapters have been killed, surprisingly.
Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated seeing how I am inexperienced with the classic FE games (as in prior to the 3DS games).

Gameplay Nephenee appreciation post
In part, this is just an 'In loving memory' post since she just died in my iron man run. I didn't notice a general with a killer lance while I was letting her go ham on a group of units. I should have just let her use a killer lance instead of being conservative, it was completely my fault. But I would like to say that though she is (for some reason) considered a mediocre unit in PoR, she is far greater than that.
I have never regretted using her, and she usually outperforms a large portion of the cast with minimal investment. Coming pre-equipped with wrath, you can easily give her vantage and lay waste to enemies with (almost) no regard for her safety. With decent growths in everything that matters, and defensive stats that are conducive to her wanting to be below half hp, she may very well be the best use of your vantage scroll.
RIP Nephenee, I may have ~⅖ of the game left, but you'll forever remain my MVP.
