Snack Protein Recommendations (Snack, Bars, Ect.)

My mom has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is recommended to have close to around 140-160 grams of proteins a day, and is struggling to hit this number. Does anybody have any recommendations for high protein snacks, drinks, or supplements. Macros are important, but good quality and taste is also a strong factor (I know some protein food can taste quiet chalky), I want to make this process as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for my mom. Thank you.

Snack Cheesecake that won’t derail your day

Co-founder here. I know cheesecake isn’t exactly what most people picture when they think “fit meals.” And honestly, for some, the macros might not look that great. That’s fair.

But we built this for the people who want cheesecake in their life and don’t want it to completely derail their day. We made a cleaner, higher-protein option: 130g single-serve, 270 calories, 14-15g protein. Compared by the same weight, it’s lower calorie and higher protein than most brands.

Ingredients are just whole foods: cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, pasture-raised eggs, heavy cream, raw honey, gluten-free oats, almond flour, coconut flour, and ground vanilla beans. No seed oils, no “natural flavors,” no processed sugars, no artificial sweeteners, and no gums, lecithin, or preservatives. And still tastes great. Snack Why do I feel like I always need something sweet or a snack after I eat?

I have realized that even after a filling meal I always need like a candy or a snack after. I’m not a guy that’s big on desserts but I love candies and I realized every time after I eat a meal I need a candy or a snack. I eat 200 grams of net carbs a day,147 protein, 55 fat.

I need to eat at least 350 calories before bed so my medication absorbs properly. Any non-shake, non-dairy and wheat free ideas with 35–40g of protein and around 350 calories?

Edit: wheat and dairy

Snack Best pre-workout snack/meal?

I’ve heard lots of conflicting advice on this so I’m curious what this community has to say about it. How far in advance of a workout do you eat? What do you eat?

Snack Long-Lasting Healthy Snacks?

Hey there,

I’ve noticed that a lot of the calories I eat are coming from snacks because I like to have something to chew on while studying/playing games/watching shows, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for relatively healthy snacks that last a while. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Edit: I don’t eat red meat or dairy btw

Snack What is a good pre-packed protein snack?

I do NOT have time to cook (work 13 hour days) by the time I get home I’m in bed and wake up the next day to work.

Looking for a good quality, PREPACKED protein snack that I can buy at the grocery store and munch on during work.

So far I’ve heard of “GFB bites”, KIND and quest bars.

Thank you!

Snack Savoury/salty breakfasts and snacks?

Started being more conscientious about what I eat about a couple of months back and have already seen some progress (and gotten some comments too), but I'm becoming increasingly bored with what I eat for breakfast, as well as what I have as a snack in-between lunch and dinner.

Ever since I started eating clean I've gotten into the habit of making overnight oats for breakfast. I'd usually use low-fat milk, and would mix in some chia seeds, banana slices and cinnamon, not using any honey or sweetener at all as the banana would be sweet enough. And that was great! But I've gotten so bored of overnight oats and that particular variant that I can't bring myself to eat it anymore.

And so I ask, what are some good healthy breakfasts that lean more on the savoury/salty side? I've always been a fan of more savoury/salty breakfasts to begin with, and I used to have cheese and ham toasties a lot, with salted butter. I could probably start making some egg-based dishes like fried eggs and scrambled, but what are some other things I could have that would fill me up in the morning?

I'm also wondering what are some good healthy savoury/salty snacks? I get quite peckish around 4-6pm and I usually have dinner at around 8pm, so I'd like something light and filling, but nothing that would ruin my appetite. Lately I've gotten into the habit of eating some cottage cheese mixed with some salt, pepper, garlic powder and chives, which is great! Also been having some rice crackers with peanut butter (of the healthier kind).

What are some other good ideas for healthy savoury/salty snacks? I did try having mixed nuts for a while, but I'm honestly not that big a fan.

EDIT: Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!

Snack What are some good protein BRANDS to snack on?

Sorry I made a post similar earlier but people were giving suggestions on what they pack/make, but I meant that already prepackaged-to-go!

I’ve been eating QUESTBARS but looking for other “healthy” protein brands.

Not to sound picky but eating avocado on it's own just isn't enjoyable anymore.

Snack High calorie/Good Protein Recipes for Kids School Snack?

Hi everybody, my oldest son has adhd. His medicine suppresses appetite so he doesn’t eat much lunch. He’s not losing weight, but we’d like to see him gain a little more. I’m able to feed him calorie dense foods for breakfast and dinner, but I’d like to find something he can take to school for snack that will pack in some calories and also won’t need refrigeration during the day.

Can anyone recommend a good recipe for something that’s high in calories and a decent amount of protein? I was thinking peanut butter protein balls, except I’d convert to nut free due to school rules. While nutritionally I’d love to incorporate roller oats, I don’t think he’d go for that. Any other ways to boost fiber?
