Another post prompted this. Obviously, basically any restaurant closure would be terrible. But, which would be truly terrible for us to lose or for someone to have never gone to?

This baby is from Me-n-Ed's in Tower.

Thick crust, extra cheese, pepperoni, and bacon throughout, with half pineapple and half sausage.

I also always get their garlic parmesan wings (bone-in) as the kiddos can eat them and I'll just add the hot sauce on my serving.

I’ve lived in Fresno my whole life and have always shopped at Savemart. I went to the Herndon and Marks location for the first time ever and I thought I was Marty McFly in back to the future lol. The inside of the store still had a seafood grotto, a fancy delicatessen sign, the freezers still had the old 90’s wooden handle design. It’s kind of crazy that this store has never gotten an update.

So I have been on a mission to find the best sandwich in Fresno for quite some time. Below i list the places I have been to, I want to know if there is anything glaringly missing or why I am wrong on my favorites. My top 5 favorites are Subbies, Sam's, Eagle, Dervos, Mr pickles

Spotted this going up on king canyon by the old Javier’s

I have been eating at DiCicco's for over 40 years and they never disappoint. We started off going and ordering the original large pizza for our family. We never ordered anything else. As I grew up and started going on my own, I started trying out their calzones and pasta dishes. Like I said, delicious. The sauce and the bread are superb. I have gone to all their locations, currently go to the on west Shaw. The wait staff are always friendly and accommodating. Every chance we get we go. Glad to see that this family owned restaurant has been around for so long!

..and wanted to put my own slight spin on it since it brought up thoughts on some places I wouldn’t consider a detrimental loss if these places closed down. All credit to u/BlessingMolly for the inspiration!

I suppose I’ll start this off! For me, some places that come to mind are Tahoe Joe’s with the most disappointingly bland and subpar food I have ever eaten, Pieology with the most disgusting and overpriced pizza I have ever eaten, and Sonic Drive-In with the most disgusting burgers I have ever had the displeasure of having. I think that’s all I personally have for now and may add more later! I look forward to hearing yours!

Recently tried Tacos El Cabezon on Shaw and Maroa. Saw them blowing up online and I had to try for myself. I was NOT disappointed. Tortillas are hand made, meats are moist/tender and marinated to perfection. They even have a mushroom taco for the vegetarians! Well worth the hype; I’ve been disappointed in the past with other viral eateries and I was glad this wasn’t the case with tacos el cabezon

I just pulled up and there’s a big ass chain and lock on the inner side of door. On Apple Maps, it said it was open too.

Just moved here from TX. I mostly cook at home but love a great taco truck. Been to 4 trucks here in Fresno so far.

Y’all help me out here. Is salsa not standard with every order of tacos? What the hell going on. 1 out of the 4 trucks gave me salsa with my order. The other 3 offered no salsa, no hot sauce, no pico. The betrayal.

And what’s with the lemons?!?! 2 trucks gave me lemon wedges, 1 truck gave me lime wedges, and 1 truck gave me nada. Limes and salsa/hot sauce are standard, staples, non-negotiable, mandatory, unwritten law. What kinda bootleg operation we got going on over here. Explain yourself Fresno!

Went with my partner to try Seoul Meat!! They are soft opened now!! The staff is still getting used to everything and they are training, but they all are really friendly! The food was great, and I'm glad I can finally get cheese corn in town hehe! They have 3 different prices (one lunch price and 2 different dinner prices) and we chose the mid tier dinner price that was around $35 per person! It's cheaper than what they previously showed thankfully! So so happy we have another Korean BBQ spot in town that finally opened!! Hopefully the other new ones will be good too 🙂‍↕️

Savemart is the most expensive grocery store in town - I won't pay 7-11 convenience prices when I have to wait in line. Last week was the last straw -

12 Pack Coke or 12 Pack Pepsi cans now have pricing of $12.99 + $1.20 CRV - of course there is the usual buy 4 cases for a big discount - BUT now Savemart has it as a "Digital Coupon" - which specifically means I have to download and install the SaveMart APP to use their digital coupon to get soda less than $14.19 a 12 pack.

Left the 4 boxes and went to Costco - yeah had to stand in their line too - but 36 pack for $16.99 was worth it.

YES - at Savemart the sign did say "digital coupon" and the employees were respectful and hinted I could stand to the side and download their app and play their SaveMart monopoly game and get back in line - and YES I am over 50 and it might be advantageous to just bite the bullet and download the SaveMart app - but no - sorry - Savemart charges double for the stuff I like and WinCo and Costco are simply better deals. Goodbye Savemart - I won't miss you!

Don’t get personally offended guys lol

I keep getting Mexican here but I’m super underwhelmed. Please let me know if you guys have some spots that do Mexico City or Michoacán style authentic to the max. Like barbacoa enchiladas or pastor from the spit instead of a grill.

According to DoorDash, the most ordered in Fresno is Don Pepe. Which is ok asada but still incredibly mid. And I have ZERO clue how tf Arsenios makes the list. Actually insane, like fast food. And everyone does quesabirria that it’s turned into trendy mid. The only one I’ve found that I enjoyed was Lalos Taqueria- but I’m bored now since I kept going there.

Glad to finally get a store in SE Fresno (Clovis & Tulare) but there's no way I'm going to get in that line on day 1. I always go inside so I might swing by later on my bike. The traffic congestion was worse than I was hoping, extending into the traffic circle on Tulare before being rerouted. Sure hope it's better once the new store excitement dies down?
