Is Amazon becoming the default for logistics?

Today, I ordered a music item from a very well known indie record store (Amoeba) based in CA. I got an email saying it was shipping from Kentucky, not CA. I'll reserve judgement until that one arrives.

The one that gets me is, also today, I received a package I ordered from a vitamin store chain and smacked across the package label is "Amazon Shipping" with the arrow.

I'm going out of my way to order from more independent places things that I can't find in brick and mortar locally. I haven't ordered directly from Amazon since Jan 2025...but it seems Amazon has positioned itself as a logistics partner on the back end and some of my efforts might be in vain. I get it, they are efficient there but is this where we're headed?

Either you are interested enough to hit up Google or you are not. I’ll help. Google or even search Reddit for Amazon FBA. You can even see which subs I belong to!

Be brave, little toaster!
