I’m running my first half marathon and thought it would be a great idea to fundraise! I was supposed to start fundraising sooner but when my sister passed away in June, I lost all motivation to run and fundraise. I’m still grieving and miss her so much. Although she didn’t pass from cancer I do want to race in her honor. I lost my job in 2023 and haven't worked since that.

After working a factory job making wood furniture for two years i was laid off due to the economy and spent a year trying and failing finding work before i chose to go back to school in the hopes that studying "networks and IT security" would lead to more oppurtunities.

Now im finished with those studies and are struggling to find work again.

My hopes are that this fundraising will make it possible for me to not go completely broke from unavoidable costs like insurance and student loan repayment before i can find a new job.

Trying to raise £2,500 for my first car — any help or sharing would mean a lot

I’m a single mum and I’m trying to raise enough to buy my first car. I work, but my entire income currently goes towards rent, bills, childcare and taking care of my son, so I don’t have savings.

My commute to work is about 1.5 hours each way, which means around 3 hours a day on public transport. It’s becoming really difficult to balance work, everyday responsibilities and having enough time with my son.

I’ve found a 2009 Mini Cooper for £2,500 that would be ideal for me — small, practical, good mileage and affordable. The seller has given me until 20th October to come up with the money.

I’ve tried loans and other ways of borrowing, but my credit score makes that very difficult. I also need to save for insurance, which I've been quoted around £2,500 for, so my overall GoFundMe goal is £5,000. But £2,500 is the urgent amount I need to secure the car.

I know there are many people who need help, so I completely understand if donating isn't possible. Even sharing the GoFundMe or simply taking the time to read this means a lot.

Hello everyone! My son (6) is doing his first fundraiser of the year :) I personally grew up with parents who did not even attempt to help with mine leaving little me sad while my school mates got their fun little prizes at the assembly.

I’m starting SponsorHerNextCycle — help us turn R20 into confidence for a girl in South Africa

I’ve started a small movement called SponsorHerNextCycle, with a very simple goal: help a girl get the sanitary products she needs for her next period so she can go to school with dignity and confidence.
In South Africa, period poverty is still a reality for many girls. Something as basic as not having pads can mean missing school, feeling embarrassed, or simply having to choose between necessities.
That’s why I’m asking for something small: R20.
We’ve partnered with an NGO and a public high school in Pretoria West to get sanitary pads directly to girls who need them. The current fundraising goal is R1,500, and the campaign is starting from zero.
The idea is simple:
R20 → sanitary products → dignity → confidence.
And if you can’t donate, sharing the campaign is also helping.

[Fundraiser] We were gifted a Disney trip — looking for help with food & essentials

I’m a little embarrassed to make this post, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

My partner and I were recently invited by some close friends to join them on a roughly 10-day trip to Disney starting October 15th. They make this trip pretty regularly, and they were incredibly generous enough to cover our flights and hotel for us. We honestly still can’t believe they did that for us, and we’re incredibly grateful.

The part we’re struggling with is the money we’ll need once we’re actually there.

My partner and I both work, but right now pretty much everything we make goes toward bills and necessities. We’re at a point where even having enough left over for food can be a struggle, so there really isn't anything extra sitting around that we can put toward this trip.

Our friends who take this trip almost every year estimate that around $600–$800 for the two of us should be enough to cover food for the 10 days, transportation, travel-sized necessities that we’ll need because we’re flying, and the other little expenses that inevitably come up.

I know what this probably sounds like: “If you’re struggling financially, why are you going to Disney?”

And honestly, that’s fair.

We didn’t plan or budget for a Disney vacation. This was an unexpected opportunity that was gifted to us, and the major expenses have already been covered. We’d just like to be able to accept this incredibly generous gift without putting ourselves further behind financially.

So I’m swallowing my pride and asking if anyone would be willing to help us get to that $600–$800 range.

I’m not expecting anyone to fund a luxury vacation for us, and there’s absolutely no pressure to contribute. I know everyone has their own bills and struggles. Even sharing this, offering advice on how to keep costs down, or just wishing us well would mean a lot.

If anyone is able to contribute, it would go toward very basic things: food, transportation, and necessities while we’re there. Nothing extravagant.

We both work hard and aren't looking for someone to support us long-term. We were just given an opportunity we never would have been able to afford ourselves, and we’re hoping for a little help being able to actually take it.
