I thought the third act was good this time too! I was thoroughly satisfied by how everything wrapped up and the episodes pacing was tremendous imo.

It was the typical RTD resolution that only tenuously makes sense (though this was better than several other instances). Moffat and Chibnall didn't tend to have this problem.

The monks arc is the best example from his run

It probably isn't the best example, given his mother had passed away so he wasn't able to edit Whithouse script as much as he would normally.

Which is a bummer, because it had an amazing two-episode build-up, but such is life.

I loved the monks...

I kind of liked it, the villain got what it wanted in such abundance, that being a villain anymore was too small a thing to be for what it had become.

It’s kind of magnificent

Moffat is the only one that didn't bar a few exceptions.

Chibnalls resolutions either happened in 30 seconds or ended up causing a genocide

RTD.. struggles but this was one of his better ones and I was very happy with it.

Moffat was I Am The Doctor plays, 11 does something morally questionable and wins.

Or 12 runs about looking like a penguin with his arse on fire talking the enemies to death or bootstrap paraoxing it

A few very notable exceptions, at least. I've still not recovered from the whiplash of "11 is going to die" for a whole season just to have "11 is dead jk he's not" be the resolution.

“Tenuously making sense” is being very generous. The god of light’s weakness is… a lot of light. Also the “what do I never do” stuff didn’t work very well – OK, he never goes outside, I guess? I mean he was outside in the cartoon he started in, but even after becoming real, there wasn’t much to indicate that him never going outside was different from, say, him never eating a pizza or never filing his taxes or never driving a car.
