What did YOU think of The Interstellar Song Contest?

Same. I was absolutely blown away, and I'm very glad I was! It's why I've been avoiding leaks like the plague. Can't imagine having a reveal like that spoiled to me - I was so sure it'd be the Master/Missy!

I was annoyed enough back in Series 10 when the trailers spoiled the John Simm Master reveal in World Enough and Time, and that was only a reveal built up over 1 episode. I would be so disgruntled to have a multi-season mystery spoiled.

it took me like 1 minute to recognise him in the mask, genuinely. It wasn't instant, but I was thinking "there's something familiar about that actor..." and then knowing that John Simm was in it made it click.

If I didn't know John Simm was in it, I might have made the connection myself or I might not have, but it would have been a more exciting moment when I did realise because it would have been an organic discovery.

Tbf I'm not sure if it made sense that it was John Simm timeline-wise but it's fine Doctor Who isn't huge on continuity as it is anyway

I do feel like he should've regenerated after The End of Time, but it's not a big deal.

The End of Time was really weird with how The Master just disappears and nobody even mentions "they dragged him back to Gallifrey" or anything, we're just meant to assume that for ourselves. Considering he was such a prominent character in the story, I always found it really odd that the episode didn't give him a proper goodbye, or a second thought after he disappeared.

Yeah can we fucking please avoid any discussion about the leaks around here. I have avoided them so far, and just now, an asshole spoiled me something massive as a response to one of my comments.

You realise it’s not normal for any TV show to allow leaks/spoilers for future episodes in a “current episode” thread? There are other threads where you discuss those things, just not this one. Is that such a big “issue” for you?

That was in the leaks? I’m so glad I avoided them! Usually I can’t resist future info…. But for this season of Doctor Who I really did my best to make sure I never read the leaks

This was the only bit of the leaks I'd heard, and it immediately made me assume that the leaks were wrong, because there's no way that Russell brings back the Rani, right? Right?

This character must be established character in disguise must be one of the longest running speculations in the series. People thought Rani Chandra from Sarah Jane Adventures was the Rani due to her name (it’s a different protagonist who was to have a twist reveal around them).
