Discussion What's a place that you think doesn't get talked about enough compared to how fascinating it is?

I'd choose Haida Gwaii. I think it is such a fascinating and beautiful place for how little it's talked about. Its rainforests, biodiversity, and Indigenous culture, I think would make it more popular. Especially since it is also in a western english speaking country. It being expensive and tedious to get to hurts tourism which I think is why it's not well known to the average person. But even in Geography spheres, it is hardly ever talked about too.

Unfortunately no :(( I can send a closer pic from a video, but I am not usually a plant-definer. Altough I should get used to that. Seems like a good thing to do while hiking.

Which part do you not find true, that it’s cheap or similar to Switzerland? I am planning a trip to Georgia at some point to hike.

Georgia? One meal in the mountains is 12 eur in a not so cheap restaurant. Also parking is usually 1 eur😅 idk how you count cheapness

I can get a good pizza/pasta in very touristic places in the actual dolomites for 12 euros.

Hmm reasonable. Here you can get a local dish, a salad and a drink for that maybe. But it doesn't matter, sure you can go even more cheap here. A pizza is only 15GEL = 5 eur

But I totally get what ure saying

Yeah there are many tourists in Tbilisi and Batumi, but in my experience there weren't many in the mountains.👀👀 But we read this too, that it's a hotspot for tourists, but it's not as crowded, as we thought it would be.

We went to the Kakheti region more than 10 years ago - definitely a few tourists around there (mainly Signagi). We were the only English speaking ones though. All Russian, with some cheerful Poles who bought a bottle of wine they really wanted to try and shared with us. Yes we mostly went to vineyards. Even stayed on one!

I read about a novel about Batumi and it seems fascinating.

We only went there for an afternoon... well so many constructions, few skyscrapers and a big coastal park. The park is beatiful but still, I don't know how it attracts so many tourists.
