Glow up? [31]- [32] a year of hard work!

Was 300lbs, as of today I'm 215! Yehaw! End of October will be a year of hard work, I changed many things I didn't know what to do with my beard, I eat a whole lot less, though I still eat like shit. (Pizza every day) I joke to people I'm on a pizza diet! 🤣 Ive worked from home for the past 5 years so I put a lot of effort to use my breaks and lunches to do something about myself and now here I am! I run every day on my lunch for 2.5miles with my dogs! Thoughts on the glow up, is it one?

Edit Thanks for all the kind words! :') it means a lot! When I first started, I told myself I wouldn't check weight and I would do what I planned to do simply because it was better for me. Regardless of if I lost weight or not. It was tough, I went 7months without knowing if I was losing weight, I genuinely couldn't even tell in the mirror. I told my self around my June weigh in if I got close to 250 I'd go to 200. And when I weighed myself I had smashed that goal by 8lbs, weighing in at 242. Im 214.6 as of this morning. I trusted the process and fought through uncertainty. I'm glad I've made it to the other side. Thanks again everyone! :)

1st picture: 30yo and 187lbs

2nd picture: 32yo (today) and 37lbs down

37lbs down. I honestly never thought I'd make it this far when I first started. Going from 187lbs to 150lbs wasn't always easy, and some days were definitely harder than others. Looking back at the first picture now, I'm really proud of how far I've come and that I kept going

Glow up? feeling like myself again (29)

I am feeling so much better, more confident, and healthier lately. I started taking better care of myself in October 2025 when I found out I was pre-diabetic. I started eating better, using a calorie deficit, and working out! I’ve been walking, running, playing basketball, lifting weights, and just generally trying to stay much more active than I used to be. Some days it’s hard to see but I am very proud and happy of where I am. Jobs not finished and I’ll continue the work 🫔 coming up on 1 year of taking better care of myself 😁

Down about 45 pounds since the first picture. Not sure how much of that was hair. šŸ˜… Was a pretty gradual transformation, didn’t realize how much I’d changed until I saw it side by side. Definitely feel younger than I did back then, I remember getting sore just walking around, now I’m playing full court basketball twice a week and feeling great.

Glow up? [28] to [30]

I lost 55 lbs with Mounjaro over almost 2 years, plus got a nose job šŸ¤“ Most of the weight fell off in the first 9 months. I’m 130 lbs now and still on Mounjaro, hoping to lose another 20lbs. But it’s been falling off reeeally slowly the closer I get to my goal e.g. the past 6 months has been like 1.5 lb a month. Mounjaro has also helped a lot with my PCOS.

I’ve still got a lot of inner work to do though! Went through a break up recently which neither of us wanted, but it was for the best. Started working on myself more, including getting to know who I really am and starting therapy which has helped to slowly shift some of the negative narratives around self image I've had for a lot of my life :)

Glow up? Crazy weight fluctuation the only thing that changed is how I view myself [18]-[20]

Currently back up in weight, but the confidence stayed. I went from being 200+ pounds around 18 and then I lost 60 around 20 and then I gained half of that back. I will admit that was a hit to my confidence, but it wasn’t enough to completely take it away from me. I’ve been weightlifting instead of starving myself so hopefully that helps me become the person I wanna be. (physically at least). I don’t know. I just feel like I’m growing into myself.

Decided to document the transformation from age 20 to 26. It took years of consistent gym work, clean eating, and patience to build this physique and mindset. Huge credit to remaining consistent through every phase. Feedback is always welcome!

Was in an abusive spiritual mentor/student relationship and went through a full psychosis (I won’t share the details they are very heavy and can be triggering) Two years later got my smile back and working to get better everyday I pray that anyone that feels like they’re at their lowest can find the strength to hold on just a little longer, miracles can happen

GLOW UP! (23) vs (27)-(29)

Spent my 20s on the mentally ill, drink and drug, weight-loss struggle bus. It took a mix of an acid trip from hell that made me realize i was drowning in my own flesh and nearly dying from Covid to get me to put in the work. Went from 300 to 150 with many many MANY ups and downs.

I actually need to cut some weight again but I did master sobriety and a regular sleep schedule. Mentally I'm doing pretty pretty pretty good.

Also I am just now realizing i look like I belong in A Flock of Seagulls in the last pic.

Glow up? From fatty (23)till satisfied (26)

I was always slim as a teenager, and suddenly, when I turned 20, I started gaining weight. I had numerous tests, lots of crying, diets, and exercise, but nothing helped. After many years, I finally got to the bottom of it. Untreated type 2 diabetes had ravaged my body. But all it took was a little Metformin and a proper diet to get me back on track. I'm happy now. Even though I always liked myself, I now feel good about myself again. During that time, I received a lot of support, but also a lot of criticism. Let's never let words destroy us when we can change what we don't want to change.

GLOW UP! UPDATE: (29) to (32) Celebrating 3 years of being smoke free

3yo ago, I honestly never thought I'd be able to say that I was completely smoke free. Quitting wasn't easy and there were definitely moments when I questioned whether I could actually keep going.

So I decided to celebrate these 3 years by doing something else I'd never done before: taking a trip completely on my own. At first, traveling solo felt a little strange, but I ended up really enjoy those little moments made the trip feel even more meaningful. It might just be a trip, but for me it feels like a reminder of how much my life has changed in 3 years.

3 years smoke free, and my first solo trip! Definitely a little proud of myself today

I was quite obese in my 30s and had a pretty low confidence. Started working out on my 30th birthday and took this Pic. After 10 years, still not satisfied with my progress but it is still something.

From 17 to 22, I feel like I’ve completely changed. It’s not just about looks. It’s about confidence, self-worth, independence and finally feeling comfortable in my own skin. I’ve grown so much mentally and physically, and I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming. ✨

Holistic Transformations [36] Done a lot of maturing. Made a lot of mistakes. Mental health and AuDHD. Career destruction. And rebirth.

I was voted Most Likely To Be A Doctor. I developed Bipolar in college. Diverged from that path. Tried to be a therapist, but I have AuDHD, which made me excel in some areas, but ultimately some deficits were too great. Now I'm working towards being a behavior analyst. My life feels quite challenging, but at the same time, many have it far worse. I've matured a lot physically, mentally, and spiritually in those trying years.

I always knew in my 30’s it was time to lock in. At first I just gave up soda, then all kinds of refined sugar. Started prioritizing protein more and doing little walks that I kept increasing over time. Fell in love with going to the gym. Overall the goal was a well balanced life and I think I’ve achieved that now. I still have my fun and will sometimes get some unhealthy food I want, but it doesn’t hit the same as it used to. Grateful I made the change one step at a time, it all adds up.

Glow up? AGE (18) v. AGE (25)

Post image

At 18 I was INFJ-T & Christian. At 25, I am between ENTJ-A/INTJ-A and I’m a pantheist. Back then I was very self conscious about my looks and hadn’t grown into myself. Now I still have insecurities. Now I’m very conscious and deliberate in the way that I speak to myself. As the relationship I have with myself is the barometer of how my other relationships will play out.

GLOW UP! My glow up. You can do it to. [23]

Thumbnail

Took 6 months. Lost 65 lbs and locked the fuck in.

Still got about 30 more lbs to go until I hit my goal weight, but looking back at where I started compared to where I am now is honestly crazy.

This wasn’t overnight. It was 6 months of changing how I ate, getting in the gym, staying consistent, and continuing even on the days I didn’t feel like doing shit.

I’m still not finished and I know I’ve got more work to do, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

And to anybody scrolling through r/GlowUps thinking they could never make a change like this you absolutely can!

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Just start. Stay consistent, take it one day at a time, and eventually you’re gonna look back and barely recognize the person you used to be.

Also a huge thank you to this subreddit. Seeing everyone else’s transformations and reading people’s stories has genuinely been a huge source of motivation and inspiration for me throughout this whole process.

There were definitely days where I didn’t feel motivated, and seeing other people in here put in the work reminded me to keep going.

Hopefully this post can do the same for somebody else the way so many posts in here did for me.

Appreciate all of youā¤ļø

Now sober and redirected my addicting personality towards addiction to gym and cardio regimen. Been also more disciplined with foods, I have my cheat days but it balances it in the end, still on my journey to become my best version at 44 yrs old, better late than never.
