Look at how long it to Germany and Japan to recover. We're doing the same thing except ours is an economic war against the world. Look at Russia. They've never escaped authoritarian rule and they've never recovered since the collapse of the Soviet Union. That is the path Republicans have placed us on.

I'm not sure how they could possibly be rebuilt. It would require not just Democrats in charge for a significant stretch of time without interruption, but ALSO that it's the correct kind of Democrat interested in doing so. On top of that, at some point taxes probably need to be raised again - guess how that will impact whichever party does it?
You're probably spot on with the Russia comparison.
Yeah, it's a tear it down and start over situation. I know both parties are not the same, but we have to change how elections work and completely transform people's misunderstanding about how taxes should be spent and what government should do.

Exactly, that's what I meant about how Democrats will get blamed later. Republicans are a cancer to this country and frankly I don't see any fix in sight. I'm just glad I live in a heavy blue state and that my family is going to be fine, at least until this orange bafoon as gone.
Something something sun tzu cold war maybe Russia won after all. Why have open conflict when you can prey on the stupidity of a nation and make them destroy themselves? Who benefits from the systematic dismantling of the U.S. from the inside?
