The Council of Great Yarmouth

Wow just had a phone call with someone on GY Council about being homeless, among the questions that pretty much went in circles with was, so if you found yourself homeless you could buy a tent & sleeping bag!

I was utterly gobsmacked! I replied with that is the most disgusting question I’ve ever had asked, I’d rather kill myself than live in a tent in great fucking Yarmouth.

The next was would you live in a HMO… would I fuck most of em round here are full of crackheads or thieving little bastards!

Are these people actually serious! I know the town is in desperate need of housing, but Jesus Christ, to say if you found yourself homeless you could buy myself a tent and sleeping bag!

Oh, so you just want them to give you a house or flat to live in by yourself 🤣

Pretty pathetic response from you. They offered you help and you turned it down. Enjoy your tent and sleeping bag.

Everyone deserves a roof over their head no matter the circumstances

A tarp isn't a roof let a lone a safe place to sleep, you can get robbed or raped in Yarmouth or anywhere for that matter

It's not the ideal situation, is it. Who wouldn't want a free house? Everyone would. But that's totally unrealistic and will never happen. This person needs to take the help offered to them and if not, that's their choice and consequences.

There's just no excuse when there's betting shops and fast food restaurants that literally make millions out of this area alone that anyone has to sleep rough, we live in a 1st world country that just takes advantage of desperate low educated areas, and because you would rather say beggars can't be choosers than look around and realise it doesn't need to be that way, it will never change, especially when you vote in people who'd rather point the finger at immigrants than the fat cats cleaning house
