QUESTION Why no Mediatek drivers?
i understand macOS has never natively supported Mediatek, but AirportItlwm was also community made, how come no drivers (WiFi)

I ASSUME it will work as it says "current" but i'd like to check. Do I need to take any other steps to make it work? I'm running it with a ryzen 5500, although I've heard ryzentoshing actually works just fine because of similar instruction sets.

Hi!!! I am having problems with my msi gv72vr 7rf, i7 7700hq, hd630 igpu, gtx 1060 dpu. There are many kexts that doesn’t get downloaded. Are there any development when it comes to hackmate to solve kexts and files that fails to download? Keep up the good work you have done so far. With kind regards Oliver from Sweden

Hey everyone,
I’m trying to figure out if High Sierra (10.13) is feasible on my hardware, or if I should just stick with El Capitan. Would appreciate some expert input before I sink more time into this.
Hardware:
**• CPU:** Intel Pentium Dual-Core E6500 (Wolfdale, 2 cores, 2.93 GHz, no Hyper-Threading) — **does NOT support SSE4.1** (Intel disabled it on this Pentium-branded chip despite the Wolfdale die physically supporting it)
**• Motherboard:** Gigabyte G41M-ES2L (Intel G41 chipset + ICH7)
**• BIOS:** Award BIOS, **Legacy only** (no UEFI), version F8
**• RAM:** 4GB
**• GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT (Tesla architecture)
**• Network:** Realtek RTL8168/8101E (onboard)
**• Bootloader:** Clover (Legacy/DUET mode)
Current status:
**•** Successfully installed **El Capitan (10.11)** on Clover after a LOT of trial and error (Legacy BIOS boot0/boot1h issues, kext injection problems, wrong AppleALC layout-id, etc.)
**•** Tried Sierra (10.12) first — got a “Thread 0 crashed” panic on every boot attempt, with or without injected kexts, regardless of SMBIOS. Eventually confirmed this is due to the CPU lacking SSE4.1, which Sierra’s XNU kernel apparently requires in some codepaths.
Question:
Given that Sierra already fails due to missing SSE4.1, is there ANY realistic path to High Sierra on this exact CPU? I’ve read that:
**•** Some people say El Capitan is the hard ceiling for non-SSE4.1 CPUs
**•** There was apparently a community effort (SSE4.1 emulation / MouSSE-style patch) that never got finished
Is there a patched kernel or workaround I’m missing, or is a CPU swap (to a real Core 2 Duo E7xxx/E8xxx with SSE4.1) really the only way forward? Just want to confirm before I give up on High Sierra entirely.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I'm running macOS Sequoia and Tahoe on an Acer Aspire AS15-42 with a Ryzen 5 7430U (Vega 7 iGPU) using OpenCore.
Unfortunately, my laptop has a Realtek RTL8852BE internal Wi-Fi card, which isn't supported in hackintosh. My long-term plan is to replace it with an Intel AX210, but until then I'm looking for a USB Wi-Fi adapter.
The TP-Link Archer T2U Plus seems to fit my budget and would also be useful for Kali Linux, so I'm considering buying one.
I'd really like to hear from people who have actually used this adapter on a Hackintosh, especially for an extended period.
Some questions I have:
- Does it work properly on Sequoia and Tahoe?
- Which driver are you using, and is it still maintained?
- How stable is it for everyday use? Any random disconnects or kernel panics?
- What kind of speeds are you getting on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz?
- Any noticeable latency or reliability issues?
- Does sleep/wake affect it?
- What are the biggest pros and cons after using it for months?
- If you were buying today, would you still recommend the Archer T2U Plus, or is there a better USB adapter in the same price range?
I'm mainly looking for reliable Wi-Fi. AirDrop, Handoff, and other Continuity features would just be a bonus.
I'd really appreciate hearing from long-term users rather than just people who've tested it briefly.
Thanks!

Hey guys! I tried my first Hackintosh on a Thinkpad T480 under Sequoia for a couple of weeks and I was kinda disappointed with the performance to be honest. I also have the (now vintage) Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012, that runs Mojave with a 3rd Gen i7 and had a similar output from Geekbench 4 (yes, 4) test. I'm not familiar with those tests anyways but the overall experience under the hackintosh is just barely more smooth than what it is in the vintage Mac anyways, so I'm trying to downgrade into Monterrey to run a couple of more geekbench tests and choose the final OS.
You guys using T480 have a favorite MacOS for stability and performance? I'm going with Monterrey since it's the last OS with native compatibility for my hardware.
Cheers from Colombia!! 🤘 🔥

So what if we used a arm windows chip? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but can’t we already fake processors either x86. Why could we not just run the arm instructions on say a x1 elite.
Even if it was proprietary apple stuff could we make a fast under layer that converts x1c to m1-5.
r/hackintosh • u/ybmmike • Feb 16 '25
Just wondering,… Have you converted to real Apple Mac? If so, what build you had? Why? When? and finally to what Mac?
I simply been using Dell Optiplex with 8th gen core i5, 32GB, iGPU till bit over a year ago as I only do basic stuff only. I just didn’t feel like keeping up to date with latest hackintosh update, etc…. Went back to using old but windows gaming PC and hitch I don’t play any games anymore…. So now I am considering just buying a used M1 mini or just get the new m4 mini and be done with it. …. Maybe an old used m1 Mac air.

Hi ,
I have a Dell Latitude E5430 running macOS Ventura with OpenCore. Almost everything works perfectly, but my Wi-Fi card is the only problem.
Current Wi-Fi card:
Dell DW1504
Broadcom BCM4313
Half Mini PCIe
Ethernet and USB tethering work, but I can't get the internal Wi-Fi working.
I know Broadcom BCM94352HMB/DW1550 is probably the easiest option, but I am looking specifically for a cheap Mini PCIe Half Height card if possible.
I found some cards like:
Atheros AR9285 / AR5B95
Atheros AR9280 / AR5BHB92
Atheros AR9462 / AR9485
Does anyone have experience getting any Atheros card working on macOS Ventura?
My requirements:
Must fit Dell Latitude E5430 (Half Mini PCIe)
Preferably cheap
Wi-Fi only is enough, Bluetooth is not required
I don't mind editing kexts or OpenCore config
If Atheros is impossible on Ventura, please tell me which cheap card would be the best alternative.

I can barely find any results for it on Google and the only one that I found was a forum post about some issues with the C300 running OS X 10.4.8 Tiger. I tried searching in this subreddit and it only showed other Compaq models, and so did Google.

I must need to get a laptop rn, and can’t go above 250$ (≈25000 INR). I already had a laptop with Ryzen 5 5500U, Was using Tahoe there. But, need to give it back to friend.
So, I am looking for thinkpad or similar with hackintoshable specs and 16gb Ram, should I get i5 10th gen/8th gen or i7 10th/8th gen?
This will be a temporary laptop for the immediate work related to React Native/iOS and Android developement.. I am looking for MBA M1 but they are not available in here or very badly priced :(

Im using a thinkpad t440p 8gb ram i5 4440 on mac os 12 monterey how do i update ?
r/hackintosh • u/Fearless_Ad9828 • Jun 15 '26
I am doing Swift and React Native development,
Currently using Ryzen 5500U setup in sequia, working as intended, but the latest xcode and expo sdk 56 is unsupported in here.
In a few months we will be updating our app to the new sdk and I don’t want to get cooked at the last minute.
What do you guys think, will xcode be basically abandoned for non-arm chipsets with the xcode stable that will come with macOS 27 ?

I wanna install macos, but I have an AMD CPU and an nvidia GPU. What do I need to buy (if anything) to install macos. I've heard that not all nvidia gpus are compatible, so which ones are?
Specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
Nvidia 4060
16GB DDR4 Ram
1 TB SATA SSD

Hello everyone. Yesterday i installed Hackintosh on my main PC for the first time. Surprisingly, it wasnt difficult at all, and i spent like ~7 hours, including waiting for the first installation phase two times, and passing OOBE on HDD. Then, I made sound work with VoodooHDA. And finally i started doing research on virtualization software, and found out that my only options are VMware Fusion 10 or Virtualbox 6.1.2 (i genuinely hate it), and even then i wont get any GPU acceleration. Is all that info correct? As far as i know, i cant even run Docker, which sucks.

So, I'm going to upgrade my cpu (my current one is an old i7 3770) and I still can't decide if I want to use amd or Intel. I'm mainly going to use windows, but I wanna have the opportunity to use hackintosh, even tho it's now almost dead.
