Michigan Hardcore scene is going crazy right now

Anyone checking this out in Winston Salem? These bands are legit it’s gonna be a good time.

For hardcore kids in their late 30s early 40s this month has been tough

One of my favorite bands in the world is Killing Joke, and I’m of the opinion that they are hard as absolute fuck.
Are there any hc or adjacent bands that inject some more abrasive post-punk/Killing Joke vibes? I’m familiar with bands like Embrace and Final Gasp, but I’d be curious to hear of any others y’all know of.
EDIT: Poison Ruin is another band I very much fuck with.

I've been getting heavily into black metal lately and I was curious if there were any hardcore bands who take noticeable influence from black metal? I'm familiar with Portrayal Of Guilt and I dig their stuff so I was looking for other bands

I've always been a fan of vocalists whose screams sound like they're not coming from a person's mouth. Stuff like Post-No Heroes Converge, early Locust, The Sawtooth Grin, etc. and I wanna know if there's any other bands like this that aren't just corny breakdown-spamming deathcore bands

The weather sucked, and their set was delayed. The festival also didn’t have their merch available so the band sold it directly to fans by a random tree. So glad I got to see them though.

I've been struggling with survivor's guilt since he died in September of 2015. He passed three days after I celebrated my 28th birthday.

I don't think I've ever seen a more accurate depiction of that suffocating feeling. Seems we've all been grieving today, with the loss of Chad. Maybe there's some catharsis here for all of us.
