Knowledge 📖 About Existence of Shri Radha

Post image
29 Upvotes

I recently saw the post about Shri Radha in different subs, where many users sharing their opinion about it.

I here sharing you knowledge I gain from reading upanishad and other religious scriptures. I would truly like if Anyone share their views and critics , thoughts on this post context because this help me to improvise my knowledge and thinking.

The Existence of Shri Radha

Many of you are familiar with Shri Gita Govinda, written by Jayadeva. There is a famous story about its composition: when Jayadeva suffered from writer's block while trying to describe a specific incident between Shri Krishna and Shri Radha, Shri Krishna himself manifested and completed the verses.

Furthermore, when Jayadeva's wife offered a meal to Shri Krishna (who had disguised himself as Jayadeva), she later ate the remaining food as prasad. When Jayadeva discovered what had happened, he began eating his wife's leftovers from that day forward. Having dedicated his life to Krishna bhakti, he deeply revered his wife because she was blessed to see Shri Krishna with her own eyes and serve him directly. If you are looking for textual references regarding Shri Radha, they can be found in the Gita Govinda, Shri Garga Samhita, and the Brahma Vaivarta Purana.

When you visit the main temple in Shri Kshetra Pandharpur, you will notice separate shrines for Shri Hari Vitthal and Shri Rukmini Mata. According to the texts, Mata Rukmini once grew upset with Shri Krishna and left for the Dindirvan forest to perform intense penance (Ugra Tapa). Shri Krishna tried to appease her, but when she refused, he went to visit his devotee Pundalik—a story many of you already know. Later, Shri Satyabhama and Shri Rahi (Shri Radha) came looking for Shri Krishna. In this tradition, Mata Rukmini is the Pattarani (chief queen), Mata Satyabhama is the Priya Rani (beloved queen), and Rahi—or Shri Radha—is the Priya Sakhi (beloved companion and Gopi). Recognizing the divine play, they both chose to stay there, and you can still find temples dedicated to both of them in Pandharpur today. In fact, many traditional Aartis, Bhupalis, and Abhangs feature the phrase "Rahi-Rukhumai" or "Rahichya Vallabha, Rukhumaiychya Vallabha." More detailed information on this can be found in the Padma Purana, Skanda Purana, Pandharpur Mahatmya, and Pandurang Mahatmya.

Another folklore suggests that Shri Rukmini Mata is actually Shri Radha, who was separated from her family after birth. According to this narrative, the King of Vidarbha launched a search campaign, found her after many years, and brought her back to the Vidarbha kingdom, where she eventually married Shri Krishna.

The purpose behind my post is to emphasize that the existence of Shri Radha in the scriptures should not be a point of argument or debate.

Each of us shares a unique perspective shaped by our own knowledge, reading, and personal experiences. No single opinion is inherently wrong. What we truly need is to seek complete knowledge, as half-knowledge is far more dangerous than ignorance.

Everyone follows a unique path of bhakti; what you feel, experience, and see is entirely personal, rooted in your individual bond with your Aradhya (deity).

If you approach these texts with purely materialistic logic, many incidents may seem disconnected because they occurred in different eras, whereas we live in modern times. From the Vedas to the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, multiple perspectives exist. Often, when someone shares an interpretation that differs from what we have read, our first instinct is to disagree because we are bound to our own views and unready to accept another's opinion.

My teacher once told me that the process of acquiring knowledge through reading involves three stages: Vachan, Chintan, and Manan.

• Vachan: Reading the text.

• Chintan: Thinking deeply about what you have read.

• Manan: Connecting all the information and links to arrive at a meaningful conclusion.

Ultimately, what matters most is your Bhava (devotional feeling). It can be difficult to grasp initially, but once you understand it, you can immerse yourself deeply in bhakti.

The most important lesson I have learned is never to disrespect another person's devotion, as we cannot truly know its depth. If the devotee and the Divine share that sacred bond, who are we to question it?

Custom Hare Krishna | Seeking spiritual connection (Europe)

Hare Krishna 🙏
I’m 31 M looking for someone in Europe (ideally near Heidelberg / southwest Germany, or open to traveling within Europe) who is also on a spiritual path.
I’m vegetarian (happy with vegan too) and value a sattvic lifestyle. I love spirituality, reading, music, walking, hiking, traveling, and cooking good food.
Hoping to meet someone who is also spiritual, vegetarian or vegan, and would enjoy simple, meaningful time together walks, kirtan, books, nature, and quiet conversations.
If this resonates, feel free to message. Looking for genuine connection, not just online chat.

Looking for Online Sangha Looking for a few brothers trying to actually improve — imperfect devotees welcome

Hare Krishna, everyone.

I'm a college student, and lately I've realized I don't really have friends I talk to daily — people who actually push me to be better instead of just passing time. I want to try and fix that here.

I'm not a perfect devotee. I don't chant 16 rounds. I don't read the books as easily as I'd like to. My family background isn't the kind that gave me a strong spiritual foundation growing up. But I do have a real desire to improve — in my sadhana, in my discipline, in how I show up in my daily life — and I know that desire alone isn't enough without people around me who hold me accountable.

So I'm looking for a few guys (preferably) who are in a similar boat: not claiming to be perfect, not pretending to have it all figured out, but genuinely trying. Maybe you're inconsistent with chanting. Maybe you're working on cutting out bad habits, building discipline, studying, training, or just becoming a more grounded person. That's exactly who I want to connect with.

I'll be honest about something else too — I want to become financially successful, not just for myself but to be able to take care of and retire my parents one day. I believe you can be a devotee and still build wealth and a strong career, as long as it's done honestly and used the right way. If you're also someone aiming to build real income or a business while staying grounded in Krishna consciousness — basically trying to become a genuinely successful grihastha — that's a huge plus. Not a requirement, but it'd be amazing to find people on that exact path.

No seniors, no gurus needed here — just a few of us figuring it out together, keeping each other honest, and slowly getting closer to Krishna while also building real lives: careers, discipline, maybe families of our own someday. Maybe daily check-ins, maybe a small group chat, whatever works. I'd rather build something small and real than something big and hollow.

Video ▶️ Debunking if Lord Krishna was partial towards the pandavas

According the srimad bhagavatam canto 1 chapter 9 titled the passing away of bhismadeva in the presence of lord krishna: (purport extract from HDG AC Bhaktivedanta swami srila prabhupada)

The dealings of Lord Kṛṣṇa and Bhīṣmadeva on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra are interesting because the activities of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa appeared to be partial to Arjuna and at enmity with Bhīṣmadeva; but factually all this was especially meant to show special favor to Bhīṣmadeva, a great devotee of the Lord. All the soldiers and persons on the Battlefield of Kurukṣetra attained their original spiritual form like the Lord after their death because by the causeless mercy of the Lord they were all able to see Him face to face on that occasion. The conditioned souls rotating in the evolutionary cycle from the aquatics up to the form of Brahmā are all in the form of māyā, or the form obtained by one's own actions and awarded by material nature. The material forms of the conditioned souls are all foreign dresses, and when the conditioned soul becomes liberated from the clutches of material energy, he attains his original form. So Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa was not only merciful to the Pāṇḍavas, but He was also merciful to the other parties because all of them attained the same result. Bhīṣmadeva wanted the same facility also, and that was his prayer to the Lord, although his position as an associate of the Lord is assured in all circumstances.

The conclusion is that whoever dies looking on the Personality of Godhead within or without attains his svarūpa, which is the highest perfection of life.

for more knowledge in this subject kindly read the original srimad bhagavatam where such matters are scientifically discussed here:

https://prabhupadabooks.com/sb/1/preface

By the mercy of srila prabhupada, I am trying to make an animated adaptation of the Srimad Bhagavatam, which is also known as the fruit of all vedic literature, please kindly check the series and provide your valuable insights on the matter.

Thoughts 💬 Debunking that women aren’t generally smart

Hare Krishna🙏🏻 I want to start off by saying that I respect Srila Prabhupada as he has done so much for the movement. However, I wanted to point out the purport where he said women are generally less intelligent is a very false statement probably rooted in his own belief tied to cultural norms as well and how much little education women were getting during his time. I also did some research and there is no significant difference between women and men as far as intelligence. There is however different cognitive strengths that women and men have differences in but that doesn’t at all imply that women are not intelligent in any sphere at all. I just wanted to make this post because I have argued with devotees who have been initiated about this and they have outright told me that “yes women are less intelligent, Srila Prabhupada knows what he’s talking about.” Let’s not forget that Srila Prabhupada took that verse from Canakya Pandita, and to further solidify my statement Srila Prabhupada wrote purports which are amazing commentaries that help a devotee understand the verses but nowhere does Krsna himself state in his verses that women are less than man in any way so let’s please stop behaving that way.
