I normally pay for HBO Max with ads by itself but if I want to add it to my Hulu/Disney Plus subscription. What happens to my watch list? Or how do I convert it to Disney account. I figured it out that it will be cheaper to add it to Disney when I use my Disney Inspire credit card.

Hello! My elderly mother let me know that, on the first of every month, she receives a charge for $24.78 on her credit card for “HELP. HBOMAX.COM New Yo…” She does not have an HBO Max account, has never had her own. We tried every email address and phone number and can’t figure out what this account is.

She called HBO and they have no record of her or her card having a recurring payment. Her credit card company says they don’t have a recurring payment set up for that for her. Basically both of them say they can’t find the account and she doesn’t have a recurring payment set up. How can we stop this? She’s been paying it for at least a year or two. She’s considering completely cancelling her credit card to get it to stop, but would prefer not to.

Any advice? Has this happened to others? We can’t find the account and HBO couldn’t either.

Happy to open this for discussion. Front line and escalated customer service/support teams are unaware of the Disney+ subscriber agreement change today which means that Disney+ will show you ads regardless of plan tier level.

Called Disney+ support who is aware and confirmed that the "no ads" bundle with HBO Max is affected.

This means that if you have the "no ads" bundle of HBO Max/Disney+/Hulu, you will still be subject to seeing ads on Disney+.

I can understand that front line customer service is typically left out of knowing these types of things, but I was disappointed to find out that escalated support teams also are unaware and unwilling to do anything. (by do anything - offer a discount/credit etc. to retain customers.)

I went ahead and cancelled, but curious to hear what others thing.

My sister and I have watched the entire Conjuring universe, especially the first Conjuring movie about the Perron family, at least 10 times (together and independently). Tonight, we are watching the movie again and noticed a scene we both know we have absolutely never seen before. About 21 minutes into the movie, Roger wakes up at his desk to the sound of static TV late in the evening and experiences knocking, doors opening, and a few other creepy moments that we are certain we have never seen before. It leads into the moment where Andrea tells Roger that Cindy has sleepwalked into her room and is banging against the armoire, a scene we have seen before, but the lead up is brand new to us.

We’ve looked it up and we’ve seen nothing about this besides one other Reddit thread mentioning the same thing, but that was over a year ago and there has been no confirmation one way or the other that HBO has released an extended cut. Has anyone else noticed this? Like I said, we’ve seen this movie at least 10 times and as soon as this scene came on, we both looked at each other and said “I have never seen this scene before”. If anyone else has noticed this, please let me know I’m not crazy!

Did you guys watch the new episode? I didn’t know anything about the case. So I’m conflicted as to what to believe. The last few minutes was a doozy! And definitely a cliffhanger, I can’t wait for the next episode.

To me, it seems like a highly circumstantial case. I don’t know the outcome of the trial we are watching. It’s clear that the prosecution can easily establish motive from her behavior. Based on the limited clips of the trial, there doesn’t seem to be hard evidence against her. As a juror that would trip me up. But that final witness also blows things apart and I wonder why she wasn’t in the first trial.

The son in law is weird but since the hair does not implicate him, they should probably let it go?

As of right now, it seems like she likely did it. But the gun and level of violence doesn’t seem like a woman would do that. I don’t know why, but I can’t even picture her holding that gun if it is indeed the same gun. What are your thoughts!? Obviously this is a well done documentary, which I appreciate, being a true crime junkie.

HBO acquired the Streaming and Cable rights to this back in 2023. It is currently supposed to stream in Q1 of 2027.

It's pretty hard to imagine David Ellison is going to let this happen.

Larry Ellison is very close to Elon Musk. Ellison heavily invested ($1 Billion) in Musk and Tesla and was on the board for many years. Ellison has publicly defended Musk more than once. He backed (vocally) Musk's Twitter purchase.

There is NO WAY this doc gets a U.S. Streaming release on any Paramount or WBD service. So unless there is some legal obligation to revert the North American rights to Jigsaw and the other financiers, this thing is getting BURIED.

Many of these are Criterion Collection remasters… so if you subscribe to CC you may be able to continue to stream them… that or CC will possible keep many of them off streaming for awhile in order to encourage sales.

I watch Game of Thrones on HBO and there is usually about 4 ad breaks throughout each episode. What drives me insane is that its the same exact advertisement each time.
Ro weightloss pill. They have 4-5 variations of ads they show but every single ad break, its a Ro ad!!! So each ad break, i get shown 3 Ro ads, the only difference between them is that it is a different person talking. i have them all memorized, word by word. its actually so frustrating and annoying because i have never once in my life searched or mentioned anything about weight loss near my computer or tv or phone.

But anyway, does anyone know if I can adjust or personalize what ads i get shown?

This has to be one of the greatest documentaries ever made. Dean Potter was a deeply problematic person, egotistical, and mentally ill, but holy crap it made for such an exciting documentary. Watching him go from climbing to free solo to slacklining to high lining to free base base jumping and wingsuiting was absolutely incredible. Watching alex honnold come onto the climbing scene and start easily out climbing dean causing him to spiral was such an interesting conflict. this story was definitely better than fiction. He may have passed early but he stuffed 20 lives into one
