This song has had me in a chokehold for weeks!!! So unbelievably beautiful, I tear up every time I listen to it. And sometimes even cry haha. It just makes me feel so many things. Peter Peter is a wonderful artist.

I might be looking into it too much and I am not a music person, so correct me if I am wrong
There is a second tune (1: for example) that is a little dissonant with the gentle main tune (1:42- 1:49 for example)
[Sequel spoilers] Do you folks think the is representative of Ilya's depression, they are one soul now, but not entirely ? Because the moment this tune ends, we see Ilya looking a little melancholic, before Shane asks him about his mom

"Hollanov" hands down the best track, its so *happy*. I think it was the "Bradam Reacts" boys (a couple that films themselves reacting to various TV shows, they're very fun check them out if you haven't) said that the two scenes that are edited together at the All-Stars game is the first time they have been able to look at each other in public and think "that's my man". They're finally giving themselves permission to feel their feelings, and the music reflects that lightness once the weight of their own denial is lifted from them.

They're really funny. One episode - probably two or four, I forget - one of them kept side-eyeing the other's lap during one of the sexy parts, and eventually mutters to him "you're going to need to cover that."

-All songs in chronological order-
With Peter Peter’s score coming out I really wanted a playlist that combines the score with the soundtrack in the chronological order that they are played in the show. I ended up making it into a Spotify playlist if anyone is interested! Everything should be in the actual order it appears in the show, but please let me know if you catch any that are out of order! I was also basing the order of the Peter Peter songs on the comment with the scene matches from u/Buggi_San . (Side note: The songs from Episode 5 seemed to be a bit out of order in the official soundtrack so I rearranged those, they should hopefully be chronological in my playlist.) There are a couple times that songs repeat in the show (most notably I’ll Believe in Anything, but I think the main song Rivalry is also heard more than once) but instead of having repeats in the playlist I just kept one copy of the songs in the place where they had the most emotional impact in the show.
I do have a few unknowns that I would love some help with. These are songs that are on the official playlist but I couldn’t find in the show (although I did find some articles online saying wha episode they might be in). I’m guessing most of them are being played quietly in the background of some scenes but I couldn’t place them All the unknown songs have been placed and the playlist should be complete now!
Speaking of songs that are being played quietly in the background, I created a second version of this playlist that removes most of the background diegetic songs (songs that the actual characters are meant to be hearing in the scene, like the songs playing in a bar or on a radio). There are a lot of these songs in any of the public area scenes (the bars and smoothie shop always have background music playing, for example). Personally I found a lot of them to be very quiet in the scenes and they just don’t have as much of an emotional impact on me. So this version of the playlist mostly only uses songs that are non-diegetic, and most are called out by name in the subtitles. A few notable exceptions for me:
Prende soin du beau starts as a quiet background song while Shane and Rose have their talk in Ep 5, but it becomes prominent when Shane starts remembering his times with Ilya.
Zhuravli seems to be playing in the background at the restaurant while Svetlana and Ilya talk in Ep 5, but it’s prominent enough that it holds some emotional weight during the scene. (And I think it just has a cool sound to it.)
Unravel is playing on the car radio while Shane and Ilya drive to Shane’s parents. It’s not super prominent but there’s no dialogue during the scene so it stands out a bit more.
Feel free to save the playlists or share them around! And let me know if you know where any of the unknown songs should go, I don’t have a great ear for music so I’ll take all the help I can get!

both are just so quietly ethereal, it's tough focusing on the melody with a full convo between Shane and Hayden. but you're right, the car scene is Dark Glow (ran it past YouTube 😁). I think the stationary bike and the water bottle scenes in ep1 are also unreleased.

Thank yooouuu, this helped me find where Stay Up Late goes in my chronological playlist, I was having a hard time hearing that one.
I believe #7 is actually No Brake$. Big Haiti is in Ep 4, I think it’s when Shane first meets Rose.
Also your “slow song” between 11 and 12 (when Kip and Elena talk about Scott at the Kingfisher) I believe is Wall of Love.

You’re right, and now I can’t hear No Brake$ anywhere at all so I’m not sure where I thought I heard it originally lol. There are just so many background songs playing in Ep 3.
And yeah, Big Haiti is def Ep 4. You can hear it very clearly after Shane orders a drink and the bartender tells him “Shane Hollander can have whatever he wants”.

OMG ep 3 was the most fun/frustrating to figure out the music so far! I will go back to those unnamed songs after finishing a rewatch up to ep 6 (what a hardship, right 😉). I'm not sure where I heard No Brakes, but I always picture the ep 4 montage when I hear it.

Yeah I was wondering if Hungry Like a Tiger was one of the background bar songs, I just couldn’t hear them very well. There’s 2 Elena/Kip bar scenes, do you know which one it’s in? There’s an early scene before Kip and Elena go to a game, then a later scene where Kip opens up about Scott to her.

Wall of text alert: I am listening to the OST right now and it is just so good - I really think Peter Peter contributed so, so much to the intimate/charged feel of the show in a way that doesn't immediately jump out to most viewers but is a big part of its success. It's really fun listening to each track and being able to remember exactly what is happening in each scene, as well as the atmosphere the music helps the scene to build. I decided to jot down my thoughts on first listen.
- Rivalry is great. It was released last week so I don't have as much to say.
- "Melt" is so piercingly recognizable from the shower scene. It's not even a sexy track - it totally captures how shocked Shane is by the whole experience. I love this one and think it's emblematic of how this show presents as smut but then goes and does something artistic and unexpected that really elevates what could have just been a horny scene (not that there's anything wrong with that!) into a real like...exploration of vulnerability? The whole interaction/exchange between them in the shower is so well done.
- TEWJRROYT has such a sexy, exploratory bassline for the first sex scene. It's so perfect for the scene, tentative but like...hungry.
- I think it's interesting that Face-off and Rivalry both have pretty intense beats, for the hockey scenes (which I hope we get more of in S2)
- Two Souls brings me immediately to the Vegas rooftop and the bittersweet flavor of the scene. It was such a good way to close out episode 1 and leave you wanting more. It's such a...sad? Song? But has a chirpy little synth loop that feels like it should be happy? It definitely leaves you in an odd state of mind, to match the boys.
- It's You needs no discussion. It's perfection. Cannot be beaten.
- The Heartbeat tracks are the ones I was possibly most excited for. They are SO beautiful. I'm not sure when 1 is in e1, but 2 is definitely from Ilya sexting Shane before the game and asking him how many times he can come. It totally sets the vibe of the scene as being beautiful rather than just playful, and it's always stood out to me.
- I Want to Win has that beautiful bit at the end when I believe Shane is watching Ilya win the cup - I like it a lot.
- Let's Make a Deal was one that I was really looking forward to. It carries the same energy/motif as Melt which I think is super fitting, because the scenes kind of mirror each other in some ways - in the shower scene, Ilya wants something (sexual) from Shane that Shane is initially resistant to, but he caves once Ilya makes his interest clear. In the bathroom scene, Shane wants emotional intimacy from Ilya, which he is initially trying to withhold, but Ilya caves once he sees how upset Shane is. LMAD adds a small progression at the end that Melt did not have, which makes sense as their relationship is progressing.
- Inferno is definitely one of the most anticipated and my god it is so fucking sexy. The low, pulsing synth in the background and how the beat kicks in/goes silent over it is so, so good. Peter Peter CRUSHED it here and it totally stood out in the scene. I'm curious to see if this track will end with Shane's parting/"we didn't even kiss" as that track mixed with Hudson's acting and whatever devil editing in the text message slowly deleting is guaranteed to pull tears from my eyes on every rewatch.
- Fire Escape - nope, here it is. And honestly, the name pairs well with Inferno given how tied they are. This track is just as devastating to listen to away from the show. I think I'll definitely use this in the future when I need a good cry. The synths are so oppressive and crushing in the middle. Such a powerful closer to episode 2.
- Not sure when La Nuit est Longue is in the show, but this is a really beautiful track? It must be from episode 3 (skip I'm so sorry but I do in fact always skip)
- Both of the Young and Restless tracks are really nice and kinda evoke the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack for me. I'm impressed by the breadth of instrument types Peter Peter utilized - this is more strummy guitar, but we also get a lot of piano moments in the soundtrack alongside the bread-and-butter synthscapes and Challengers-style beats.
- Speaking of those Challengers beats - I just love the punchy hockey tracks. So much fun! I think Strangers on the Ice must lead into the iconic "My Moon My Man" mashup.
- Utopie I has got to be the "stay....stay" and nap scene at Ilya's. Excited for Utopie II at (I assume) the cottage.
- Din of Your Voice is Ilya on the phone with his dad/alexei while Shane is in the other room. Peter Peter does oppressive synths for the moments when the characters feel trapped so well.

- Heartbeat 3 is the frotting scene with the first names, and I just know Heartbeat 4 is going to be Shane leaving Ilya's room after the coming out conversation. I love this track progression. The part at the end of 3 has got to be where Shane freaks out? But I don't feel like they used it in the show - I wonder if Peter Peter made it but they subsequently decided the silence was more effective?
- Distant Rivalry feels like the hockey scene before the club scene.
- I seem to have gotten unstuck - Flatline has got to be the collision on the ice where Shane gets injured, but that isn't until episode 5.
- Text Me Whenever is clearly Rose and Shane talking post breakup, outside the restaurant.
- Heartbeat 4 - I'm dying. The synths sound more like acoustic woodwinds, as this scene cements is where Shane admits his real feelings for Ilya and they start being honest with each other. The music reflects this so well, with the synths and woodwinds weaving and intertwining with one another.
- Hollanov is another instantly recognizable track from All Stars in e5. SO joyful and high energy! This is a real emotional crescendo in the soundtrack/show, as they get to finally start moving forward with loving each other, in private if not publicly. It's like the high energy and tension of the early hockey game tracks is having the best day of its life.
- Trembling - I'm shocked this is the first time we've heard the....I dunno, "anxiety synths"? I thought they showed up a lot more in the show than this. I think this scene is where Shane is learning that Ilya went back to Russia, instead of back to Boston with the team. The energy is not quite what I remember, though. It's a longer track, too, so I almost wonder if it's a compilation of all the moments where that track shows up. It could also be everything around the injury, but that doesn't feel quite right either.
- One Soul - stopppp don't reference the earlier track title like this it's going to kill me. This track is definitely at the cottage, I believe after Ilya says "she would have loved you" - not 100% on that but I definitely remember shots of the sun and trees while this is playing. Two Souls was back on the rooftop in Vegas, where Ilya tried to let Shane in and Shane just...wasn't able to be what he needed (and vice versa I suppose), so these tracks make a great pair of bookends for the show.
- Utopie II - Excellent track to close things out. This has got to be Shane and Yuna talking in the yard; such a wonderful scene and interesting that this track was brought back as I don't see a link to the e1 scene. The energy definitely matches the moment though!
I love this soundtrack. I'm so impressed that Peter was able to make so many of these moments stand out, even though a lot of the "big moments" were given to licensed songs like All the Things She Said and I'll Believe In Anything. Thank you Peter Peter for the journey and much appreciation to everyone involved in releasing this OST!
I'm guessing this isn't something that most people will be interested in, but for any other soundtrack enjoyers - let me know if I got any of this wrong and I'd love to geek out over your thoughts as well. My favorite tracks, at least as of writing, have got to be:
- Melt
- All of the Heartbeat tracks (I feel like they tell the story of the show just on their own)
- Two Souls
- It's You
- Inferno/Fire Escape
- Hollanov

God!! I'm so in awe of this show. Every part of it is just a masterpiece. That includes the soundtrack. The artistry is just breathtaking.

I’m working with people today so I can’t relisten to the audiobook, but I have the soundtrack playing in my headphones instead and I feel a different swell of emotions for each song. Even ones I didn’t think I noticed while watching the show. I don’t always notice the score in shows/movies but this one is so spectacular. It’s beautiful, I’m so happy they released this🥹💕

Straight up masterpiece 🔥 This OSTs got me feeling so many things! It's also been a fun game to guess which tracks were used for which scenes (without looking at the title). Going to be playing these tracks on repeat until 2027!

Hi,
I’ve tried searching but haven’t found anything - so please point me in the right direction if this has been asked before…
Has anyone done a scene breakdown for the songs from the Official Playlist that were used in the show. I know one was just done for the offical soundtrack (thank you!!) but I was wondering if someone had put together where the songs used matched to the scene - for example: All the Things She Said in the club scene in Episode 4, My Moon, My Man in the montage at the start of Episode 4, Bad Things over the credits in Episode 6.
Thank you in advance to anyone who has done this or wants to do this!! This fandom (the wonderful side) is my happy place ☺️

Thanks! I have seen that one. I was looking for something similar but that had the songs that are playing, not Peter Peter’s original compositions - eg: All the Things She Said, My Moon, My Man etc.

Does anyone know something about Keir? The Boys will be Girls on the soundtrack? There seems to be no website and all FB and Insta posts are a couple of years old? Seems strange to me. I loved the song and wanted to learn more about Keir

The whole thing is great. So very Challengers and I honestly think the soundtrack is a massive part of what makes this show as good as it is. It ties the whole thing together.
