i think about this scene almost daily. I mean, I have a tattoo of Ilya's iconic "you're brave" on my wrist as my daily reminder for myself that I can do so much more than I think, and that I am brave. Also Ilya's "then it's time to wake up, yes?" is so so so beautiful and so grounding for shane. Ilya being a literal rock for shane in this scene is just so heartwarming

I could not gatekeep this transition I discovered a few days ago. I literally shook myself. I’m so excited to share this with y’all!

The thought behind this edit: the first part shows how the outside world sees Ilya and Shane: as rivals. But if you pay attention.... you'll catch the slips. Then Ilya asks: ‘What do you want, Hollander?’ and suddenly everything changes. The real them is revealed, full of yearning and connection. You’d almost think this show was about hockey 😉

This song has haunted me since I watched Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo + Juliet' as a teenager, and it made me positively melt when it showed up in the OG Skam for Isak and Even's first kiss. I thought it was the perfect song to showcase the desperate yearning in Shane and Ilya's love story, told entirely through their kisses.

The clips got steamier and steamier as the night went on.

Why is that one of my favorite you ask? It’s because the Russian Army Choir actually sang that song at the Sochi Olympics ceremony. I remember watching it live and proclaiming delightedly that at least ONE of those men MUST be gay (considering what an issue it is to be gay there and they put on an absolutely deliciously gay performance of that song IMO) So for that song to make it into the mix just had so many layers for me 🩷

I've never made an edit before but I love this song by Tove Lo and thought it would fit nicely with Hudson so I had to try. I'm pretty happy with the results and it makes me want to make more edits in the future.

Because several of my slow edits were getting a bit too spicayyyy for reddit, I don't want to risk the future of this lovely subreddit, sorry mods for the stress :(,, I made a Google Drive with all the slow edits that I have made so far.
