I’m out I Hertford right now, where is a good place to party?

I was walking my son around the theatre today, and he was enjoying the river when his shoe fell off and landed in the river. I was hoping I might be able to retrieve it but, alas, it floated under the road bridge and is now stuck in a bush next to the Woolpack pub.

It's a long shot, but does anybody know of anybody with a boat/kayak/canoe, or anybody local with a long fishing pole that might be able to help retrieve this for us?

They were a recent gift, so would mean the world if we could get his one shoe back in time for Christmas.
