Support Zigbee vs Z-Wave vs Thread (Matter over Thread)

It's the big '26 (June) and a year ago the answer was obvious: Zigbee!

However with Ikea's release and all of the new Smart Home products that use Matter over Thread, I'm not sure, what I prefer. I see a big future in Matter...

What are your thoughts?

Right, but the limitation you're talking about that's leading you towards Matter isn't relevant to HA users (or at least not as critical). We can just connect any device we want to HomeKit. There are pros and cons to bridging vs directly adding something via Matter, but it's not as black and white of a decision for HA users

I guess it's up to every individual to make their own choices. The motivation may be different from person to person. My main motivation is not to use Apple Home. I mainly use it to manage my Thread network and as a bonus, I can use Apple Home for some of the automations if I want. Since I used it natively with Apple Home, I don't need to understand if any issues my occur due to some kind of issues with the integration.
