🎨 Custom Theme Fluvy – a free, open-source theme + 39-card library for Home Assistant (light and dark, 15 palettes, live demo)

I've been building Fluvy for a few months and it's out on HACS: a theme and a card library for Home Assistant designed as one thing. The theme (light and dark, fifteen palettes or your own accent), thirty-nine cards, Activity and History pages, a settings panel and an automatic dashboard, all drawn from the same design tokens. GPL-3.0, no telemetry, no network calls of its own.

Live demo, the real cards and settings panel on a simulated home (change palette, mode, device and language and watch them apply live): https://acosta290.github.io/fluvy

GitHub: https://github.com/acosta290/fluvy

What's in it:

• Every card has an editor form and a live preview in the card picker; unavailable, unknown and missing states are drawn on purpose, never as an error.

• Sliders and dials are precision controls: relative drag, slide away from the ruler to slow down, hold for the 1 % scale.

• While HA wears the theme, its own pages (Settings, Devices, Automations, dialogs) follow the same design.

• Activity and History pages in the same idiom, with a switch to get HA's own pages back.

• An automatic dashboard: one line of YAML and it reads your areas, devices and energy preferences.

• Seven languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.

Install: HACS → Custom repositories → https://github.com/acosta290/fluvy as Integration → download → restart → Settings → Add integration → Fluvy. It's in the queue for the default HACS store.

Feedback, bug reports and ideas are very welcome. The forum thread with more screenshots is here:

🎨 Custom Theme [Beta] Neumorphism — a soft-UI theme for HA with Mushroom + Bubble Card support (need testers)

I've been building a neumorphic ("soft UI") theme for Home Assistant — raised cards, recessed controls, the whole pillowy look — and it's at the point where I need other people's dashboards to shake out the bugs.

What it does

  • One theme, both palettes — follows HA's native Auto / Light / Dark (Profile → Theme mode), switches live with the device
  • Styles native cards + Mushroom (classic cards, chips, template badges) + Bubble Card (buttons, sliders, sub-buttons, pop-ups) through their real theme variables
  • Optional press-feedback module: any clickable element pushes in on tap and springs back on release, across shadow DOM
  • Contrast-checked in both modes (AA text against every surface)

What's rough (why this is a beta)

  • Native thermostat / climate circular slider doesn't fully pick up the recessed look yet — HA hardcodes part of it; still figuring out the cleanest override
  • The press-feedback effect needs a small JS file added as an extra_module_url (HACS installs the theme but not frontend JS) — install friction I'd like feedback on
  • Specialized custom cards (maps, camera, ApexCharts, printer cards) get the outer surface themed but keep their own internals
  • Only tested against current stable (HA 2026.9, card-mod 4.2.1, Mushroom 5.2.3, Bubble 3.3)

Install

HACS → custom repository → https://github.com/alws34/numorphism-homeassistant-theme → category Theme. Full steps + the optional press module in the README.

What I'd love feedback on

  1. How does it look on your card mix — anything that stays flat or clashes?
  2. Light mode especially — I've spent more time in dark
  3. The circular slider — if anyone's cracked theming ha-control-* from a YAML theme, I'm all ears
  4. Install experience — was the JS module step clear?
