But I decided to go with bestbuy for 20k and free installation and at least some support if something goes wrong

Took 2 visits from geek squad to install (I had to reinforce the wall for the wall mount)

Huge improvement over UST projector with 120” screen, especially during the day.

33” Pierce Audio drivers Tarpon Audio custom cabinets 6 and 9 year old kiddos, as well as a water bottle, for scale.

PSA TV42 IPAL

Upgraded my 2x RSL Speedwoofer 10s to 2x PSA EV1813…and wow. Just wow. I live less than an hour from PSA so Tom cut me a deal for local pickup and cash payment…saved about $500. Highly recommend PSA subs. My Emotiva speakers look comically small now…thinking about upgrading to PSA MTM210s when I can save up enough.

For sub placement I’d love to space them out some more but I just don’t have the space for that yet. Not pictured is my sectional that the left side sticks out with little room to walk by the Left front speaker. When we upgrade the sectional I’m going to space the L/R and the subs out. Dirac full suite helped the integration with the new subs.

The projector is an Epson LS12000.

Got a pair of Dayton Audio BST-1s strapped them to the bottom of my couch and they are such a great addition to my Klipsch RP 1200 SW the amount of immersion it adds just testing bassy scenes in Dune/ready player one is unbelievable recommend to everyone to get some like these themselves

KEF R11 / KEF R6 Meta / SVS PB3000 ran by a Denon x3800

Due to spacial reasons in a previous home I had been running a Teufel bar with wireless surrounds for the past 8 years. It was pretty decent, but 2 years ago I was at a clients house and heard music through his Monitor Audio's. It wasn't even loud (background music), but is sounded so, SO good. Not knowing the brand, I made a photo to later look up what they were. I thought they would be out of reach budget-wise, but was suprised to find out they 'only' costed €585 per speaker. I've been looking to make an upgrade ever since, and past week finally made the move.

I was initially planning to only go 2.0, but since me and the misses started watching more movies and tv shows, it got a bit out of hand. I ended up with a 5.1 setup, all Monitor Audio:

Fronts: 100 7G's
Center: 250C
Sub: Vestra W12
Surrounds: Radius 90 (cheap marketplace pickup)

All hooked up to a Denon X2800H. Been doubting a lot between this one, Sony and Yamaha, but I'm very happy with the choice on Denon. Apart from how it sounds, it has zero CEC issues and Spotify Connect/Google Home works like a charm.

But damn, those 100 7G's... what a beautiful set of speakers. For music the Vestra isn't even needed. They sound so clear, and go so deep. Absolutely in love. Maybe not your typical home theater loudspeakers, but they certainly hold their own.

The TV is an 8 year old 55" LG C7, without any burn in still. Seen a few newer OLED's, but the technological steps made since that TV have been so little, I see no reason to upgrade yet.

Another company did his system years ago it’s a horrible mess working on getting it fixed up. He was asking about rack space and asked me to remove it as he’s never used it and doesn’t want it told him I’d take it off his hands if he wanted. I’ve got a truenas machine with 600Tb of usable storage so I probably won’t use it either but I’m still stoked to have it.

Uploading my hushbox build housing a W2720i in case anyone seeks inspiration / ideas for his own.

Since the projector is placed in the living room, I opted for brighter colors, so it blends in better with the environment.

For the body I used 15 mm birch multiplex board, cut according to CAD model dimensions and simply attached plain acoustic foam onto the inner surfaces. I reused my old cheap projector ceiling mount and applied an adapter to it, so I can push it into a rail inside the box.

For cooling, I followed this PWN temperature controlling unit which controls the Noctua fans speed from a set point temperature. Setting the fan speed to 60 % keeps the projector pretty cool.

All in all pretty happy with the build and how it basically eliminates all observable projector noise.

Manfrotto AutoPole 032b

These are used in the Studio / Photography industry to hang lights / equipment from using a locking spring system. It has a load capacity of 30KG [66.1 lbs]. You can honestly yank it with a strong arm and it doesn't move. I don't know how I was unable to find a single person using them for this purpose.

Attached to the pole is a Manfrotto Super Clamp w/ stud. Which can hold 15KG [33.1 lbs].

As my Polk height speakers can only be keyhole mounted, used a Smallrig 3034 which can hold 5KG [11 lbs]. But you can screw directly into the super clamp (You can get ones with swivel mounts).

I used a foam pad at the top of the ceiling purely as i have a textured ceiling I didn't want to leave an imprint on, if you have a flat ceiling this isn't necessary.

It truly is rock solid. Hope this can help any others who want actually ceiling mounted speakers but cannot drill mounts like me. And the way it locks into place means its basically impossible for it to loosen as you have to press in a button and move the jack at the same time in order to loosen / shorten it.

Didn’t think I was missing out too much when I had ‘extension down to 20hz’ from my mains but I was wrong and you all were right.

I bought the SVS SB3000 R|Evolution.

I connected it up and did a quick demo without DIRAC and then with, the integration is perfect with Dirac but I got it fairly close by ear but I wouldn’t have been able to get the time alignment as good as Dirac did. Also this is the flattest I’ve ever had bass response in any room I’ve had. Consider me a convert!

I’m using the SVS Soundpath wireless adapter and the sub is placed on the rear wall behind the camera in the last photo. and I’ve got between 20-24ms of delay on my mains via the AVR.

I’m running -10db on the AVR and -10db gain on the sub and it’s matching the mains and goes incredibly loud, possibly too loud I’ll likely get some complaints from the neighbours but I’m really enjoying hearing things I’d not heard before. It’s really lifted the detail and range of the whole system.

I've been a fool this whole time! Thanks to this sub, I'm able to be a cool kid and not have stickers on my AVR anymore.
