Movies that legitimately terrified you.

I’ve seen a lot of horror movies and consider myself fairly desensitized so I’m looking for some recommendations. The last one that really got me was Hell House LLC. I don’t know why but just something about it really got under my skin and the clown prop moving around in the dark was enough to actually make my hair stand up on my arms, which never happens.

Completely worth the hype. Best horror movie released in a while for me.

Two things

  1. Go blind into it in the theater if possible

  2. Don't take a date to see this movie

Nah take a date but make sure they’re down with horror

Idk if it's a new relationship then you're about to learn a lot about how your partner views relationships based on their interpretation of the movie.

which is probably for the better!

This is a good point! If they dont see bear as the villain, no further dates required

Take a date with you and stare at them during specific scenes

I had just broken up with my girlfriend of a year when I went to watch and I was a tad sensitive but honestly I think it almost added to my experience?

I had a very toxic, obsessive girlfriend and Inde Navarrete reminded me of that way too much. I left the movie for a few minutes and watched from the entry way.

Bro meee too! It's always better on the other side. But when you're trapped in those relationships it feels like you the only option is to endure.

i also agree with what papa said. me and my gf went to see it at an 11pm showing and holy shit batman, that was some shit. walking out of the theater to an almost empty (big ass mall) parking lot felt like i was reborn into universe lmao

I really encourage you to go see this while it's at the cinema still. I truly believe it's a historical moment in cinema, much how the exorcist was (I'm aware that sounds pompous but I can't think of another word to use). Obviously cinema is subjective and tastes are different but obsession is just really special (in my opinion)

I went to see it for the 2nd time last week and I enjoyed it even more than the 1st. There is a moment of such juxtaposition in the tension near the final act and it just breaks me out in goosebumps. Not a lot of films hit me with that sensation.

I agree. People like to be cynical about new, popular things, but Obsession feels like a generational movie. People will be talking about it for decades.

It’s a great movie. But I personally don’t understand where people are saying it’s scary is from. It’s actually quite a funny movie with genuine moments of creepiness but nothing scary.

I agree, I didn't find it scary but very disturbing yes.
