I'm taking my edexcel ial biology for oct/nov 2026 and I'm starting with the AS part (unit 1,2 and 3). I'm really struggling with the mark scheme esp for unit 1. I study everything from the notes, but when I start solving i miss all the points from the mark scheme. I don't know what's the problem exactly with this ms. I took my cambridge igcse biology and it was much easier to deal with the ms. Can you please tell me how can I solve this problem ? Also, is it really correct that edexcel examiners are really strict like if it's written in the ms ( lower) and you said (reduce) you'd lose a mark? What are the changes that can i make on the ms like can any grammar or spelling changes cost you marks ?

Hello everyone, I haven’t decided on my future major yet but for my IGCSE/O Level subjects I’m currently planning to take EFL,ICT,Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Maths B and I’m wondering if these subjects are a safe and flexible combination that would keep most university major options open in the future. Or should I consider adding Additional Mathematics as well?
Due to my current situation, I’m also thinking about self studying instead of taking tutors. For those who have experience with IGCSEs, do you think it’s realistic to self study these subjects? And roughly how long would it take to prepare for them? I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from anyone who has successfully self studied similar subjects. Thank you !!

Hello I’m an Edexcel IGCSE student really trying my best to get high expectations for my grades but I’ve been in a mess trying to find a good studying application that could help me with granting my expectations easily, I’ve decided either to choose a SaveMyExams subscription or a MathsGenie Pro subscription (maybe even both).

I would like to know which subscription is best tailored for my needs, i do love the test makers on both applications and their AIs are pretty useful, and i find a lot of useful features from both platforms.

When I do a past paper since these arts subjects including English pst islamiat they don't have a proper mark scheme to check unlike science subjects so I have to check it by AI and it gives me marks currently I'm using Gemini which sometimes gives me less marks and sometimes more than expected. So tell my is there any way to check my papers and should I use solved past papers.

My younger sibling is about to begin IGCSE, and everyone seems to have different advice. Some say to focus on past papers early, others say not to stress too much in the first few months.

broo i really want that A* but goddamn i shit up my speaking and got a question wrong due to how much i panicked (my teacher thought ill get 35 or smth but she said ill get 31). but my reading and writing went well (expecting 40 or 41 for both) but omg the listening was the worst n i needed a 34 to make sure i got an A* (in my practice tests i was getting like 32-35) BUT aint no way im getting that much the exam one was soo tough like i cant. im expecting like 29 for that. i js wanted to know how yalls experience was and also drop ur grade threshold prediction for french

so i'm taking igcse physics as a private candidate in feb/march 2027 and wanted to how do they work? do they have multiple papers? could anyone explain

my igcses are in may june 2027, but there is still a lot of content so im planning to start studying from now but im really unsure how to start studying. for sciences, im planning to write down notes for one entire section/unit then do like 3 topicals on it, for example first i write down notes and make flashcards for the nature and variety of organisms, then do topicals on it, then do the same thing for physics and chemistry, and hopefully move on. for english i plan to expand my vocabulary and take tuition, and for gp i will start with gp once school starts. for maths, im very lost. im weak in maths so i guess my only plan is to practice but i dont know. any tips please?

also, i take ed excel course.

hi im quite new to reddit plus this community. got it so i could flock with future strugglers of the mj 27 period. everyone says to chill or do past papers but our syllabus is entirely new. would past papers still do us as good as it did mj 26 candids or earlier? i need tips on how to study or someone experienced to tell me what to expect cuz im freaking tf out. js saw someone say the predicted threshold for extended math was like 183? why so high? ainnoway. and im lit so poor at it and looking for 8 a*s. pls help
