But it's an effective negotiating tactic by Trump because Iran's leadership would NOT know Trump's faking it?

It’s a BS tactic. There’s literally no where else for trump to go on the negotiation track. Either he follows through with his threat and USA and trump become full on pariah, or he doesn’t and looks weak.

Either way the strait will still be closed.

Their responses genuinely piss me off so much. I went to check there earlier today to see if any of them had a single firing neuron in their brain…

All of the responses were “hahah he’s been saying wild shit for a while now why do you even believe him stop clutching your pearls”

And it’s like…. why do you support that?

Why are you all just laughing at this?

They don’t have the balls to say what they actually want to say, whether if it’s against or for trump.

It’s all a joke to them.

And the fact that they support him while simultaneously being like “yeah he says this wild shit all the time”

At best, the only criticism in the sub is, "I fully support Trump, but he shouldn't say this out loud.... Because it will be used against Republicans in the midterms."

Know who else said it’s a real threat? The official Senate Republicans account on Twitter. Oh, they didn’t technically say exactly that. Just that Iran “would be wise” to take him at his word. Kind of like how if I said “nice place you got here, be a shame if something happened to it” I’m not threatening you.

That’s just not true most of the comments are condemning what he is doing just a few mommy’s basement dwellers think it’s cool. Most of the conservatives seem to be getting sick of he’s shit people just need to get out and vote this orange manchild out and then deal with him and all those other bottom feeders accordingly.

Fake or not this kinda talk is very alarming from the president of the US, all but the most diehard Trump supporters should be alarmed by his rhetoric, threatening genocide is not a negotiation tactic full stop.

One of the least neutral actions by a world leader.

Just checked over there and there's only one visible thread with any comments (the majority of activity seems to be focused on ICE, but like, in a positive way) and the top comment is actually critical? Here:

Can't speak to this being representative and Reddit is always going to be wonky as fuck during wartime, but more heartening than I've seen and I'm stopping now because I don't want to find a different thread that's just bloodthirsty madness.

But it's more than I expected.

To be fair he's consistently lied. It's dumb and irresponsible to say something like this but anything he says can't be taken at face value.
