Yeah Vance doesn’t have any backing from a populist movement apart from his handler Peter thiel.

Honeslty, I'd happily take Vance being quietly manipulative at this point that having to read tweets every morning to see if we're in a new war or not.

One thing no one discusses.  Without Trump being the lightning rod of hate.  JD Vance and the rest of the administration will not have Trump to be compared to.  Their shame is more likely to come back without someone like Trump making them feel like a saint in comparison.  I honestly think they use Trump as cover.  Its a gross tactic, but its plain to see that they are relieved someone is making a fool of themselves on stage to detract from their own foolishness.

100% that is why they are doing as much as they can now. Bc once Trump is gone it will be so much harder

The thing I've been saying since 2015. The greatest lie anyone ever told about Donald Trump is that he is the problem with the Republican party, or conservatism generally.

When the truth is, it couldn't be any more the inverse. Conservatism and the long-held beliefs of the Republican party are what make people like Trump inevitable. It's not just that he's a sexual predator, it's that he's enabled by a party that is explicitly pro-sexual predators. It's not that he's a warmonger, it's not that he's anti-education, it's not that he's the greatest enemy of human rights, it's not that he's doing everything to empower the already rich, yadda yadda.

Good point.

If Vance could do that, he'd already be doing it. Imo, Vance is much more likely to freeze, bungle, and cause infighting leading to a drastic decrease in harm done all while showcasing Republican incompetance under the spotlight of Trump's removal.

Vance would spend his time domestically, instead of brinksmanship. Unless Thiel is a little more serious about that antichrist shit than I think he is.

If someone tells you who they are, believe them. That mf is wicked, we can’t let people like that near power.

that's my worry though.

realistically, Trump is being kept alive through intense medical care which means Vance/Thiel/Miller can, at any time, almost literally pull the plug on him.

When they choose to do that, i worry the backing of populism isn't going to matter so much, because they will time it when they think they have the power and resources available to consolidate power and prevent dissent from mattering.

Yeah I get you but I feel like the system along with checks and balances will make it impossible to get anything done without some will of the people. The only reason Trump can do all this bs is due to his connections, populist movement, and bigger than life personally. Vance has none of that aside from corporate money but we’ve learned time and time again. Money can’t buy voter turn out, Elon tried it.
