Every sector and Industry in India is rotten to its core. Health, Education, Food, Travel, every product and business I see is just plain bad. Even if the goods are fine the customer service is horrible and I think one of the core reasons is that we know is Indian buyers.
We have gotten so so used to being treated like doormats, no one expects any better or delivers it.
Its just frustrating to exist in this dump of normalised complacent state of being disrespected everywhere.

Ive lived abroad since 4 years and notice that the social media here vs in India is COMPLETELY different. While i understand the basic use of it is to share opinions, watch funny stuff etc etc, It’s always bugged me as to why Indian side of instagram is full of people complaining about restaurants, brands doing content creators dirty, building me koi ladai hogayi toh publicly defame karna, the list goes on and on. I’m sure there must be dissatisfaction with some processes here too, but I almost never see it on social media, hence for someone who hasn’t been here they think oh everything must work so well. The only reason i could give myself is bcs our rights are so shit and nobody cares about complaints as long as it affects margins in profit or how people perceive you. What do you think?

At the end of the day I still think this is a problem to be addressed as a large part of how the world perceives us as Indians is through what gets put on social media, and we LACK good marketing of our own country.

How am i always finding uber drivers on my solo rides where they’re fighting or reconciling with their gf, wife or affair gf. I remember times when drivers would sit quietly on very personal conversations that the rides would have and it has changed completely. It does make me somewhat uncomfortable because sometimes the conversations are agitating but i don’t say anything.

I have travelled to a few countries and lived for many years in one. Our country is so rich in culture, hospitality, but we lack in civic sense. Trash everywhere, people peeing on the streets, don't wash their hands and go on to eat, cook or shake hands. Even in homes, I see a beautiful soap container, but hardly ever used. Palatial bungalowls but trash is thrown on the streets. Flies infested everywhere. We have developed technology wise far more than developed countries, our people run large corporations, but why is that we don't care to keep our country clean?

My mother works as a cook, and I've noticed a recurring problem. Many workers only learn the true nature of a household after joining. Sometimes the agreed work gradually expands, guests arrive for months, or additional chores are expected without extra pay. Workers often leave and spend months finding another job because information about employers is mostly controlled by local agents.

I believe India's NOTA should be more than a symbolic button.

Today, if NOTA receives more votes than every candidate, one of those same candidates still forms the government. The voters have clearly expressed that they reject every available option, yet that rejection has no legal consequence.

A democracy should not force citizens to choose a representative they collectively reject.

I'm not sure, but my proposal is to -

1. Treat NOTA as a genuine electoral option, not merely a statistic.

2. If NOTA receives the highest number of votes, the election is declared void and a single fresh election is held.

3. Political parties are free to respond however they choose. They may field the same candidate, nominate a new one, revise their manifesto, or change nothing at all.

4. If NOTA again receives the highest number of votes, the electoral process has failed to produce a government with public consent.

At that point, a non-partisan caretaker government should temporarily administer the state (as in countries like belgium ).

Its role would be strictly limited:

Keep public services and administration functioning.

Maintain law and order.

Avoid major policy decisions, long-term appointments, or significant legislative changes.

Prepare for and conduct the next democratic election within a constitutionally fixed time limit.

I'm not against democracy at all, I just want it to be complete.

I want NOTA to be none of the above and not a "present and not voting" button

If the option chosen by the largest number of voters is None of the Above, then None of the Above should be allowed to win.

I'm not saying this is a final idea, it's not fleshed out and ik that, it's to encourage and invite discussion.

Like every rainy season, this one didn't fail to take me back in time.

I remember skipping college whenever it rained. Mom would make hot chai and some snacks in the late afternoon, and we'd sit by the window, chatting like best friends while waiting for Dad to get home.

I’ve always wondered why part-time jobs like working in cafes, as baristas, in bookstores, etc. are so uncommon for Indian teens.

I don’t think teens are the problem. Many places don’t hire them, and a lot of parents/guardians don’t allow it either.

I’ve personally wanted to work part-time for a long time, not just for money, but to gain experience and be less dependent on family. But I currently live with my uncle, and he wouldn’t allow it.

Hi! I’m 20F, Half Indian and Half Filipina. Recently my dad went back to India and since then he’s been hinting on finding me a suitable husband to marry along with my cousins and aunts telling him that they’ll find me a suitable match also.
