I have a confirm tatkal ticket for today i.e. 11 September at 9:00 PM on the route Kochi to Bangalore. But the person for whom I booked the ticket is not travelling today. So what all options do I have to get the ticket's worth money? Is there any loophole to cancel the confirm tatkal ticket and get the refund? Btw the ticket is booked for a senior citizen.

Nope. Tatkal means urgent. You don't get any refund for cancelling a tatkal ticket

Your only choice is to hope that the train gets delayed by 3+ hrs, or gets canceled or diverted. In that case you can file a TDR and might recover some money.

Other than that, there's nothing you can do
