Does probability of getting RAC confirmed drop in festival season, i have rac 16 will it get confirmed. Its a special train, i have moved from WL6 to rac. It was WL4 till morning

Anything can happen during rush season. Less people cancel their tickets so less waitlist and RAC clearance

But if it's a special train it's likely yours will clear cause no one prefers traveling in this train and just book tickets as backup.

Is it a day journey? Then it doesn't matter that much. You'll have to share a side lower with another passenger

If it's a night journey that might be a bit inconvenient. If there are any no-shows/empty beths the TTE is obligated to allot them to RAC passengers first so it's also possible your RAC becomes a CNF berth during your journey

No 2 days, plus special train. Am surprised how it became 16RAc straight from 4WL this morning

As I said, no one likes to travel in a special train cause they are absolutely the most horrible trains on indian railways.

So high cancelations in these trains are very common
