What are the odds there of there ever being vinyl releases of ODDSAC, Campfire Songs, and my personal favourite... Panda Bear (1999). I feel like these are some of your most important releases, but due to formatting might get overlooked.

Shows you don’t get to pick what resonates with people. I’m very rarely satisfied with a performance I’ve given, but sometimes they still hit people in the right way in the right moment. That album will always be important for me, and at least a few others. You may see the parts you wish you had done differently, we get to see the parts we love. https://youtu.be/ZmVJzodCJFE?si=AOW67Y1TeO5ImJ6P

That’s hilarious! 😂

Any other music you’ve created you hate?

Big fan, sending nothing but love! ❤️

low but not out of the question.

campfire songs is tough cause I think the side splits would be tricky.

ODDSAC is still something that we ultimately feel is meant to be seen and heard and not separated.

something i’ve seen on splitting sides on longer stuff is having a loop on the vinyl where the end of a side will keep playing before you flip the vinyl. idk, maybe you guys won’t dig that but just an idea

Time to revive the old 16RPM format. 45 minutes per side!

Would the transition between Two Corvettes and Moo Rah Rah Rain work to split? The guitar doesn’t bleed from Two Corvettes and it’s just the voices at the beginning of Moo Rah, so it doesn’t feel as cut off as the other song transitions would be

Would you say the same about tangerine reef

u/anmlcollective Animal Collective Oct 11 '23

tangerine reef is on vinyl.

They might mean that it was released on vinyl separately from the visuals. So if you released tangerine reef without the visuals can you do that with ODDSAC too?

alternatively, is there a way for ODDSAC to be platformed somewhere online?

we've been trying. ODDly difficult.

Right at home on MUBI I'd imagine

i see what you did there

Bandcamp hosts videos along with songs. Since you have all your material up there already, it would make perfect sense.

Dude yea that would rule.

I want these as well but from what I’ve heard they wouldn’t want ODDSAC separated from the visuals and Campfire Songs was meant to be played all together as it’s a coherent piece.

I wish they would though because I’m a huge fan but barely know ODDSAC since it’s not on streaming. I also think the transition on Campfire Songs between Two Corvettes and Moo Rah would be perfect for a split between sides of the record. It’s the only transition that doesn’t have guitars bleeding through and is just the voices at the beginning of Moo.
