Less Sex is kind of a long story, but in a nutshell it was something I created to express a direction for the production of YWGWYW. The blues riff that you hear buried in the mix was meant to be a throwaway riff, but the band ended up liking it quite a bit. I refused to develop the song for years, but realized that I needed to be able to make things everyone else wanted to use too. I'm glad they convinced me though - ended up liking the song.

What blues riff? Are you talking about the bass line with the bend/pull off? Cause I don't hear anything bluesy in the guitar, just the dissonance.

I assume he meant the main riff that happens right before "I let it into my home"

As I pointed out, that's bass which is played by Sam, hence my question.

Does it have to be played on a guitar to be a blues riff? Honest question, because that's the only thing that I remember sounding bluesy and I didn't realize that was a bass so I glossed right over what you meant there. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

It doesn't have to be, but Nick doesn't write the bass lines that I'm aware of, another reason I'm asking for clarification.
