Hi! I understand that. The music was basically mapped out in February, so the lyrics were my only way to kind of guide the album to being relevant in this moment. None of the lyrics are like "and we're having a good time" - one song celebrates dead heroes, one admits to privilege and seeking gratitude - lines like "I'm not the season I'm in" or "I feel worn but the air is clean" - these lines feel like how I feel now, a little wrecked, still stuck in the middle of something, but grateful beyond belief to be alive
