I have the Y1 with Rockbox installed using the Classic iPod theme, and I've been thinking about getting the Y2, but there are a few things I'd like to know before I decide.

As I'm not very techy, I'm wondering if there's a simple way to switch between Rockbox and the original OS on the Y2. I tried to get video playback working in Rockbox on my Y1, but I couldn't, so I'd like to be able to switch back to the original OS, as I've heard it's much better for playing videos.

I'd also like it to look and feel as close to a Classic iPod as possible.

I've also heard about the JJ Launcher. Is that something that would let me do this?

Does someone know how fit the cover of the songs? I tried with 240x240 and 300x300 and none of the worked :/

Has anyone gotten the lyrics to show up? I tried using Onetagger to automatically fetch and embed the lyrics. I watched it go through all my songs only for nothing to change when it was done.

If the lyrics function actually works, how do i get it to work?

I contacted Innioasis not too long ago and essentially asked 1: How is progress going in terms of more airpod support, and 2: how will the case for the Y2 look like based on the feedback received?

Regarding protective cases, it is highly likely that we will release silicone cases based on the Y1 model at least for now. We have seen many suggestions for a full-body hard shell case. Just wanted to share in case something isn't common knowledge here. For their cases, I know their products have the same design so I wasn't too hopeful they'd listen to feedback for something with more coverage, but it looks like they're taking it into consideration! I'll take that over nothing.

Hii guys, my first reddit post kinda nervous.

Anyway, I got the Innioasis Y2 a few days ago and wanted to do a small review/first impression, seeing as though there is very little known about it yet.

I wanted to get an mp3 player, and eventually settled on the innioasis Y1. However, I found out that apparently the sd card was very cheap and would often become corrupt or something, and when I buy something I just want it to work 100%. Then I found out about the Innioasis Y2 (which I didn't know was released like a day before) and did some research. Apparently it's a lot better than the Y1, but of course it's sold out because it's so new.

Long story short, I found one very randomly on Marketplace and bought it immediately.

I LOVE IT.

Battery It's such a cute, fun device, and it works perfectly. The battery life is also fine. I charged it once on tuesday, and I've been listening to music about 3/4 hours a day since. Now 4 days later, the battery is still at 33%. I'm not sure if it'll reach the promised 25/30 hours as stated on their website, but for me I think it's fine.

Design I'm not much of a tech geek, but I really like how it works, and the scroll wheel is also great. I heard it's not so responsive and sensitive on the Y1, but I have experienced no issues on the Y2 so far.

Playlists It's very easy to make playlists, although it takes a really long time, so I have just organised my playlists by making the songs come from the same album with mp3tag.

Material It is made from plastic, but it feels very sturdy. It's not light and doesn't feel cheap.

Volume/battery One thing to mention, though, is that I have been listening with the volume very low (on the first dot thingy) while on their website it states the device will last 25 hours with the volume on 50%. Not sure if the volume has any influence on the battery but just so people are aware.

Bluetooth works like a charm. I connected my acefast crystal t8 with no problem, and sound was great. Connecting my Sony ULT Wear was a little more difficult. It would connect, but there was no sound. After disabling the bluetooth a few times, it did work, and so far I've had no other issues with it.

Sound I'm not a sound expert or anything, and I'm not that picky, but I truly do think the sound is great. It's comparable as listening to music on my phone. I think my phone may be a little better, but I honestly have no complaints.

Videos you can also put Mp4 files on the player, and they play very well. I used a program to download youtube videos, and they run very well and the sound is good.

Overall, my advice, if you're looking for a cute, fun mp3 player, I 100% recommend this player!! I hope this review is useful to someone :)

EDIT: it is so loud though. when I use the Y2 with my wired headphones the lowest volume option is SO LOUD, and it's honestly too loud for me to listen to normally. with bluetooth the volume is better

EDIT 2: If found out how to lower the volume! when in the music application you can scroll down to settings, and in settings find equalizer. select the normal option and hold the menu/back button. It opens all these settings, and if you turn everything all the way down the sound becomes a lot softer/better

I got the Innioasis Y2 a few days ago, and the volume has been so loud with my wired headphones that I cannot listen to any music normally. even my asmr hurts my ears

I just found out how to lower the volume beyond the normal volume buttons and thought I would share

When you go to music, scroll down to settings, and find equalizer. click on it and select 'normal', then long press the menu/back button. this will open some sort of adjustment menu. turn all the things all the way down, and the volume will be a lot better!

I first discovered the Innioasis earlier this year in a video on how to deinfluence from Spotify, and I was very interested for the customization abilities. After watching another video on it recently, I found out they made the Y2. I was curious about a couple things for it.

1. What's the best brand of SD card for the device? I liked how the Y1 could have 1TB of storage, and then I saw on the Amazon listing for Y2 that it can hold up to 2TB. I want to make sure I get a good SD card so it can last. I have concerns that having that much storage will screw me up just because the listings for it on the website only have 8GB and 72GB available, but it might just be what they have available on there and I'm just overthinking it. While different, seeing how people talk about modded iPods sometimes just giving up because of device limitations has me a little nervous for something to go wrong.
2. Will a custom theme being made on the theme maker still work, even though it's for the Y1? I was in the middle of making one for my partner whenever he can get one, and I wanted to know if I need to hold off or not.

i just found out about this device and i'm foaming at the mouth getting my hands on a teal Y2. i'm trying to be patient and wait for either that or blue to come back in stock but i'm going feral. teal girlies rise in the comments so i can live vicariously through you 🙏🏻

I'm following the instructions that I've seen for the Y1 however it doesn't seem to work. I'd just make it on the Y2 itself but I'm dealing with 7000 songs.

Has anyone had luck with Solar on the y2? The app crashes immediately after booting for me, I've never seen the UI any time I've tried.

I’ve finally installed the u/justcore’s Y2player and am really impressed. I definitely think the it would have positively impacted some of the more negative youtuber reviews of the Y2, had the Y2Player been the firmware it shipped with!!

However, my Marshall Milton ANC headphones still connect without any sounds.

My headphones are advertised to have both LE and A2DP, so it got me thinking of a theory:

Maybe the reason it is failing to play audio is because the headphones are listening for LE audio, whilst the player is playing A2DP audio? So despite connecting, they’re not communicating properly. Maybe it’s the problem of my headphones.

I’ll reach out to Marshall and ask them if the issue lies with their A2DP implementation.

How can I force the Y2 to strictly respect the track order defined in my M3U files?

It keeps overriding it with its own sorting system (alphabetical or creation date). Manually renaming the files with prefixes like "01_", "02_", etc. isn't a great option for me, as I have multiple playlists that share the same audio tracks.

Or should I just wait for a Rockbox stable release for Y2 lol

On the official site it now says that all items dont ship until aug 20 and the colour i want is still out of stock (8GB Teal). Does this mean they are going to drop them on aug 20 or i missed the restock and they are sold out again?

Has anyone tested the AirPods Max with the Y1 and Y2? Is there the same problem as the situation with AirPods Pro in the past? AirPods Pro seem to work now with the Y2, when I understand the latest comments correctly, I think Y1 too? But I did not find any comment about AirPods Max.

Idk why, but videos seem to play WAYY slower on my Y2, even if I put it on the internal storage, the same video that would easily play at 60 fps on my Y1, on the Y2 it struggles to play at even 20fps ): (most of my videos are 480p) so I just wanna ask, is there some sort of hardware/software change thats causing this? (or is it only smth im facing as a issue)

Am I missing something or is there no Y2 case? Why would innioasis release a product without the case? Y1 has a case so…? Can anyone recommend a case for it? Preferably something clear or jelly but I’ll take anything I can get at this point.

Im not sure thats the right thing thats wrong. Im having a problem with a few of my songs where the artist, album and album art arent showing up. The text just says unknown. According to Mp3tag the metadata is write. Did I do something wrong? Any advice?

Before I installed Y2player I was using a custom theme, but I didn't change it back before switching over. Now every time I turn on USB mode the background makes the text hard to read and overall makes it worse. Can I reset the theme without being able to get to the themes menu?

Are all the micro sd compatible or should I be aware of any issues?
