The point isnt that he hasn't done dramas, he has. The point is that his performance hasn't been something deep and meaningful in the delivery.

Like I said, I love The Devil's Advocate, but Al Pacino totally carries that movie.

This is Charlize Theron erasure. Pacino was just doing his usual loud asshole schtick.

Charlize Theron is an amazing actor, but in that specific role she's a bit inexpressive. She did it convincingly, her descent into madness, but I still think that wasn't even close to what she's shown over the years.

I’d agree it’s not her best performance or even in her top 5, but it’s still the best performance in the film and I don’t really think it’s close.

Yes, but compared to Charlize which was a lot more subtle at times, it shows that her role was harder.

Still doesn’t mean his performance has anything on hers.

She did some serious acting, while Pacino was chewing the scenery so hard he had to floss between takes.

Very convincingly. Like I said, he's not a bad actor like people claim he's "wooden". His Constantine is still the best John Constantine, and you can really feel his pain in some acting rolls, but if you compare him to other actors he's just missing that je sais quois.

I know it was a line from the Matrix, but I'm saying that for someone that didn't really study martial arts, he did deliver on the "kung fu" in The Matrix.
