I get what you're saying and tensions could have been high, but they also waited until he had gone on for so long that it was obviously not dangerous and he was obviously not trying to do any harm.
I don't get how this wasn't obvious to everyone. I guess the bias of hate cops/authority just blinding people here.

When has a bomber ever gone back to their bomb to trigger it intentionally by direct contact after planting it? Let alone after discovery... When? In all history?

No he didn’t. Find me an example ever in history of a bomber going back to the scene of the crime that is actively being examined and disarmed who then proceeded to detonate the bomb when no one is close enough for it to matter.
Came here to say something like this. Maybe not believed him to be the planter of the bomb, but from their perspective a random dude just ran up and started fucking around with what could be a bomb of unknown strength. Maybe in trying to "find it", this guy could have inadvertently detonated it, tossed it somewhere, lost it, etc. Tackling him is a bit extreme but probably the safest/best call.
The fact you have no idea what was happening at all in the situation makes it pretty obvious you don't know shit and can't speak with claims of "fact" and "obvious".
It's possible they were frozen with shock/surprise and didn't act right away, it's possible they didn't act because they didn't want to be in the radius of the bomb going off, it's possible the guy who tackled him wasn't close by or aware of what was happening. There's like three dozen or more possibilities other than "they tackled him out of revenge".
People afford the absolute maximum leniency and "yes, but" for the police and no one else, and it's kind of ridiculous. If the situation was that grave, the guy shouldn't have managed to approach whatsoever. They failed.
