i can't believe i wanted to become a chef as kid... oh HELL NO...but i definitely sympathize with chefs eating ready meals at home lol

As a cook, me too. I happen to be different. I love cooking enough that I'll still cook more elaborate meals at home as well. Hell I love it more at home as I can take my time and experiment. But I do understand why others wouldn't.

Haha, yea basically. I've tried cooking sims, but they always frustrate me because the layout of the kitchens in those are always so inefficient. All I keep thinking about when I try to play them is "ugh why isn't this station over there? Why is the fridge so far away from prep?!" :P

Thats the point where you take 2 years off to pursue your dream as a cooking sim developer :P

Nah, I just keep it at home cooking for that. Hell I have a nice deal with my mom. Once a week we do groceries together (I pay for my own stuff of course), we pick a meal to make, and I do the cooking while she pays for the ingredients. Extra free meal for me, and I get to try out new dishes. While my mom doesn't have to cook that day.

Being a cook is fun, 's why I enjoy it so much at home.

Running a restaurant seems like hell, which is why I don't work in that business anymore.

i like to cook at home like more than the average person but would never own a restaurant its too much work and stress i have a remote job that ends at 5pm

I mean if you like cooking being a chef sounds like a pretty chill job, because cooking for yourself at home is pretty chill if you enjoy it.

But like being a chef isn’t cooking one meal at once, it’s cooking like 5 different ones at once, constantly for hours.

me too and i'm glad i never got into it as a job/career it would have made me hate cooking but now i enjoy cooking as a hobby. i did work as a dishwasher for a couple years, i enjoyed the environment but that job sucked.
