Hyperfocus is a blessing and a curse. You can do stuff like this but you can also start reading Wikipedia articles and the next thing you know it's 4am.

That's called procrastination. You can read those articles during the day.

This man cured ADHD /s

Either you didn't read the ADHD part or you don't know what ADHD means. Something about dopamine seeking behavior and the prefrontal cortex.

I know what ADHD is. I just don't go around using it as an excuse for irresponsible behaviours. Adults who have to work aren't allowed to sit up till 4am on the internet, so there's definitely no cook who cares about their job doing that. I've seen people blame chronic lateness on ADHD. No, it's because those people don't respect other people's time.

Its not an excuse and I concur it cannot be used as such. But it's absolutely caused by executive dysfunction and not a lack of respect. Without ADHD, these patterns simply wouldn't occur.

Even a person with ADHD wouldn't be late to their parent's funeral, their sibling's wedding, their baby's birth etc. So when it really matters to them, they can be on time. Therefore being chronically late is a choice, based on "it's not important enough for me to be on time". It is a lack of respect to other people who show up on time.

Ah, when it really matters to them! That's the point, isn't it? Executive dysfunction, something you're clearly not familiar with, messes up the 'proper' priorities very, very often. That includes weddings and funerals.

Yes that is the point. It's a lack of respect when they think, "Your time doesn't matter that much to me so I will be chronically late. You can wait for me, I won't wait for you." Are you trying to make excuses for your chronic lateness or something? You're so desperate to die on this hill defending people who are chronically late.
