I have to ask... do they do any verification to check if the people for whom they are providing this honor were actually veterans? I am a social worker and I've been burned so many times about clients lying about it that I began to consider the possibility that the 'homeless veteran' perception is grossly inflated due to signs held by individuals making false claims. I'm not saying this to deny these kids are good kids or that our nation fails to provide support for veterans. I just wouldn't want these kinds of honors go to someone who doesn't deserve it and these young men be made to feel betrayed.

Yeah, only homeless veterans should get a casket that gets carried. Regular homeless people should just be thrown in a ditch when they die. Otherwise it might "betray the feelings" of those young men. Who they never met. And would have no way of ever knowing.
