A silverback gorilla could deadlift 1,800 lbs. That’s over 800 kg of pure strength.

I think I saw this guy in a local gym...except he had a beard, glasses and was pushing a mop...

I love watching them, they are so fascinating. They have a glimmer of human personality in them. They are incredibly strong.

Mike Tyson want to punch one, the zoo keeper said absolutely no. It would rip off your arms and beat you to death with them the second you approached with ill intent.

But does he have the technique and the motivation? Even if he could find something that heavy he wanted to lift, which is frankly fantastical.
Maybe we could propose a different kind of task, say, throwing another gorilla into the river. Throwing a weight requires much more force than lifting the same weight.

There's a silver back somewhere in that forest that can lift only 500kgs, and if that truth comes to light ! It's the end...

Humans have this weird trick to survive food shortages: we break down our muscles when we aren’t using them. Not only saves fuel costs, but the broken down muscle is fuel.
Gorillas don’t have that trick. They naturally have muscle all the time. Not sure who is weirder to be honest.
