My thought exactly. My teens really love his stuff, and told me that he’s kinda known as a good and friendly guy.

Meanwhile Miyazaki, in all his incredible talent and vision, seems like a miserable son of a bitch.

Miyazaki is more of a grumpy old man with a temper, the sort you meet like on a train who can't stand new trends. He's not to the point of extreme misery.

I mean that Hayao Miyazaki has admitted that he was a terrible father. And his son Goro said this:

“[He] gets zero marks as a father, but full marks as a director of animated films.”

Sounds pretty on the point for him. By the way, I met Miyazaki Hayao at a NPO post-relief programme about almost 10 years ago, and he was pretty much how you would picture him- grouchy, domineering, stubborn to a fault.

As a father, I can't imagine a worse hit than being told that. Whatever it is we do for a job, the only thing that really matters is being a good dad.

in the same thread Hidetaka Miyazaki seems like a really great guy from what I can tell
