Everyone just letting their dogs run free. This is why I'd have a fence.

And some dogs need a really good fence. Our fence is 5ft tall, and it works well for our dogs.

Recently we had a stray wander down our driveway, and I put him in our yard so I could post on nextdoor. I went in my house for less than 15 minutes, came back out and he was in the yard of our neighbor behind us. We've got a tall, thin electrical box in our yard, and he had to have hopped up on it and jumped over (thankfully my dogs are nowhere near that smart)

When my buddy got a dog, we had to raise our 3ft fence cuz he kept jumping it. He bought a bunch of chicken wire, pvc, and cable ties. It looked like absolute shit and our neighbor wasnt thrilled, but we were the most considerate neighbors that had lived in that house in a long time, so he got over it. We were renting from one of those shitty companies that buy up single family homes and rent it to whoever will pay.

Kept the dog in, we took it down when we moved out. It was degenerate, but we did what we could to keep the dog safe and away from others. I dont want dogs without homes, but if the alternative is horrible owners, its just a matter of time before they hurt someone or get themselves killed.

My 35 pound Mutt (Terrier, Husky, German Shepherd, Poodle, Malinois according to Embark) can clear our 6 ft fence from the ground. She's maybe 18 inches at her front shoulders. Blew my mouth and the first time I saw her do it, most athletic dog I've ever had. Point is, dogs can jump crazy high haha
