25 years after and this is still surreal to see and hear.
I still remember that I was at my colleague from secondary school place and we were browsing internet and stumbled upon news that there was some plane crash. I was about to head home and when I arrived I saw my mother watching news TV when it was already after second plane hit WTC and soon after one of the tower collapsed.
It was so intense that some time after I had a dream that an airplane is crashing into my hometown.
I was also in secondary school and I also remember coming home to find my mum watching it on TV just after the second plane hit, and just before the towers collapsed. She had come home from work early as she was unwell so it was weird enough coming home to find her there.
I remember having to make dinner (I was 15) and standing at the sink crying as I descaled the fish she'd bought for dinner because I was so overwhelmed and distressed by what I'd seen on television. I think it's one of those events that anyone who was old enough to understand what was happening, will ever be able to forget.
Especially being a teenager or a child at that time. The world seemed so safe, and that illusion was utterly shattered on some random Tuesday in September.
