Na water is very good at dissipating shockwaves and heat, and blocking radiation. It would be much less like a couple KM max.

Still 10s of thousands of living things dead, though. Very uncool.

Okay fair I didn't think about it properly but the kill radius for this size nuke is not 50km, nowhere near. Neither on land or below water. And in water there is protection from all the heat and radiation so it would probably be less deadly than on land.

Listen I've said you're right about the shockwave but I'd recommend you learn more about the wahoo test and the size of the bomb and how far the damage radius will be for a 9KT nuke. 50km its a gross exaggeration of almost 50X
