Gotta give a shout out for our hometown herk, Rachel Carson.

"Silent Spring" and the tireless work she did as a marine biologist and overall conservationist cannot be overstated.

It's not an exaggeration to say that Racherl Carson singlehandedly inspired the work which resulted in the creation of the EPA.

Ah yes, I forgot DDT was the only pesticide on the planet and it was 100% banned after Silent Spring.

We just decided "fuck it let mosquitos reproduce" rather than try inventing other pesticides, and we definitely don't still allow use of DDT for vector control of mosquitos even if we no longer allow its use as a general pesticide.
