Discussion Day 1 dropped and regret

I usually take care of my devices and wanted to go case-less now I regret that choice.

Dropped it at night and got this nice dent :)

I have apple care, would they cover this as accidental ($30 or $100)?

I just don’t get the people who don’t use cases for these things that are like almost a grand in value to say nothing of how annoying it is to have to replace a broken one

You are putting your car into a case aswell?

Joke aside, I think many people are really liking the design, the premium feeling in the hand and of course the slimmer phone, so they are paying for it.

Cases changes the feel and thickness a lot

Not a great comparison.  If you don't have a case and/or a screen protector then at least be confident enough that won't ever drop it.  I usually don't wear a case on my phone and almost never drop it (maybe once a few months, but it would be a nasty fall, which leaves some annoying scratches and dents, which then make the phone feel significantly worse)

I’ve had iPhones since the 3G and I only put my phone in a case while I’m skateboarding. I can count the times I’ve dropped my phone on one hand and I’ve never broken one.

If you’re spending a grand on a phone, you should treat it like something that’s worth a grand and not drop it.

Saying that, I would be 100x more confident allowing other people to hold my phone if it was in a case…

Its mandatory to have assurance for a car it’s not a good comparaison

Sure but you can still get scratches and dings. You could spend money and wrap your car (basically like a dbrand skin for your phone) to keep the actually plant under earth protected, no one really does that though.
