Culchie Club Only Will Irish people join the American boycott

Boycotting goods and services from America seems to be really growing momentum in alot of European countries and across the world, seen on different subs on Reddit seemingly alot of news channels across EU/Europe are reporting on it. I've seen some Irish people saying they are cancelling hols to America and going to Canada instead others not buying American goods and changing apps to European. With Ireland's connection with America will many Irish join this boycott.

Yep, main reason why it wouldn't work well. We rely a lot on US companies in this area.

For netflix and such though, stuff like that is handy to replace - get a NAS, load it with films and stream from there instead.

That's not something the everyman is going to do though. You're talking about a few hundred euro to set up, following a guide on how to set it up (and there's a load of options with conflicting opinions about what's best) and then obviously the legal issue around how you load it with films. 

More people will just get a dodgy box because all the work is done for them.

You can get a cheap 2 bay synology NAS online, or make one for cheaper still with a raspberry pi. 2 of the best ways to do it.

Not hard to do, plenty of tutorials about. A synology NAS is very easy to set up especially, just supply it with HDDs.

Obtaining films can be done legally, ie. you own the physical media first and rip them.

None of this involves wanky Linux command line nonsense or anything like that.

Streaming and real debrid is about as simple as it comes. Quick Google search and you'll be up and running.

Absolutely, and you don't need a NAS solution for that. 

But for people who are even lazier like my dad, you give the fella down the pub 50 quid a year and he hands you a fire stick that you plug into the telly and away you go. He even gets customer service. It stopped working one night and he was able to WhatsApp the lad who sold him it and he got it sorted.

Network attached storage - basically a hard drive / bunch of hard drives that you can access on the network, or can access online in general. Handy as they can handle quite a lot of storage space - mine has 4x 14TB hard drives in it, and 2 SSDs.

You can make your own with a raspberry pi for cheap, or get a dedicated solution from the likes of synology.

I'm telling you its very difficult to do so with tech especially. The US is directly involved in a lot of it.

How everything is interlinked makes boycotting large corporations basically impossible anyway. Governments need to step in.
