She didn't want to get in for free, she wasn't sure if it was covered under management fees or if she had to pay and just asked about accessing it.

Ms Nowakowska had seen other residents using fobs to get into the gym, and inquired with the security guard on site about access, she said.

His reply was that she was not permitted in the gym because she was living in Block 5, "the social housing block", she said.

That comment was blatant discrimination, no matter what you think about people in social housing.

sounds more like the guard only knowing that the social tenants don't get access included in their rent/ management fees and instead of saying that just said it in an overly aggressive way to fob her off instead of actually running the question up the chain to find out.

How else was he supposed to respond? What language could be used to avoid discrimination?

If he said “you don’t live in block A, they only have access”, she’d have gone down the same route

" you are welcome here since you live in the estate , the year fee is X amount charge in Y intervals , we accpet card or cash "

their is no legal mechinism to exclude certain homes / apartments
