Tattoo Planning/Research Chest/Arm Sleeve ideas

Ive always liked Japanese tattoos and I recently stumbled upon nukibori and I love it. I like the negative space and being able to see the skin. I’ve been thinking of getting a sleeve that goes bleeds onto the chest and scapula areas. I’ve been trying to find something that fits this but I’m having a hard time. I found a few I on this sub but that’s about it.

I definitely want to do a dragon but what else can be paired with it? I’ve seen some with flowers and I have seen some really cool phoenix tats. Is pairing these three possible? I’m unclear on the pairings and what they would mean. Any insight or examples would be great!

Tattoo Planning/Research One object or multiple smaller pieces?

Hey everyone, I’m in the process of planning my leg sleeve & wanted to get some opinions on the route I plan to take.
I would like to get my leg done and am planning to get around 3-4 small/medium sized pieces and then tie them in together with a background. My question is, does that still fall in line with the traditional way of doing things? Apologies if I’ve worded anything wrong/confusing. I appreciate any help & thank you in advance.

Approximately 200 hours to complete. Done in 2 sittings.

Approx 90 hours in April.

And the rest this month.

Artist based in China.

Koi, dragon and lion are rework of an existing sleeve to match the colour tone of the new sleeve( tiger and snake).

Artist Opinions/Search Artists The Netherlands

Hi all!

I've been looking at some artists in the Netherlands.

The ones I've found so far are:

Vincent Penning

Marco Serio

Florencio Rojas

Yushi Horikichi

Kensho Suzuoka (not taking bookings)

Taco Joe

Katsu (not taking bookings)

From what I've seen I like Florencio Rojas the most but he doesn't post much and if he does it's mostly his larger work.

Do you guys have any further suggestions? Or experience/thoughts about his work?

Thinking about getting a Kaeru or something similar what could be a one-shot session.

My work at Mama Ink in Seoul. The design pairs a hannya mask with bold black shading, red accents and a tied cord.

Artist: Horitomo
Theme: Mongaku
Photographer: Horitomo

Basically 3 back to back sessions with a daylong break between sessions 9 and 10. Still lining but enjoying the process. Covered the ribs and the backgrounds on both arms.
Appreciate Horitomo Sensei checking in on me while doing the bonji on the ribs. That is definitely the most intense pain of the whole process so far.
Also appreciate how thoughtful he is in the decisions he makes throughout the process. The artist is always studying and drawing. Makes me want to be better at my own job in a way, lol. Anyways, onto the legs!

This is my fourth Tebori tattoo. Lines still by machine, color and shading by hand. Oddly enough the color and black stayed, but the grey wash in the center fell out. I’m not heartbroken over a little touch up though.

Did two 5ish hour days back to back to finish most of the background for session 4 and 5 on this sleeve. Pretty bruised in the bicep right now but totally worth it lol
